When I was injecting once a week I would test on the morning of my next needed injection. Do I do the same now that I'm injecting twice a week subq?

Thanks,
Ken

When you move to a lower dose more frequently injection protocol your serum levels are much more stable...which is what we are striving for, therefore it makes no difference when you get tested.

For me, I inject Monday AM and Thursday PM so I will have blood pulled on either Monday or Thursday AM...but it really makes no difference.

So you're saying don't test in any trough...even if it's a small trough on 2x week injections. That sounds contrary to standard practice everywhere.

If I understand you correctly, Gene tests the morning of his needed injection whether that is Monday or Thursday but that because we inject twice a week the usual trough won't be severe.

"therefore it makes no difference when you get tested." -That's clearly contrary to standard practice.

Vince - Test Cyp has a half life of about 6 days or so with serum peaking at about 72 hours from time of injection.

If a man is injecting twice weekly like Monday AM and Thursday PM there will be little variability in serum levels based on this injection protocol and the half life of the drug.

That said, there is almost, if any, "trough" in serum levels; this is what we want in a two week injection protocol.

If you are injecting once a week you'd want to get tested the day of your injection, before injection, where serum levels will be much lower as compared to twice weekly.

Does that make sense to everybody?

This is taken directly from Dr. John Crisler' forthcoming book; The Low T Book.

"With the split, twice weekly testosterone dosing regimen—which produces very stable levels throughout the week, so we pretty much just accept the numbers on the labs as consistent..."

What he is saying is that serum levels are very stable over the course of the week when twice weekly injections are being administered so it doesn't matter when blood is pulled relative to the injection as serum levels are "consistent"...

Gene, thanks for the explanation, i'm learning all the time. I'm looking forward to reading John Crisler's book.

I'll still test at what I view as my trough, Thurs AM, before my injection. I'd rather test at any low point than any peak.

That's what I do Vince (probably out of old habit from my once a week injections) BUT it really makes no difference as there is very very little peak and trough as Dr. Crisler wrote, so I want to make sure members here that do inject twice a week know that they have that convenience of testing when they want to and not at any particular time after an injection.
