What's your idea of a good libido?

Sex drive is one of the most under rated signs of health, particularly as we age. I had a physical a few months ago and the doctor didn’t ask any questions about sex. Healthy libido indicates good hormones and blood flow. I also believe that people get old because libido dies, especially if they have been married a long time. It becomes something both a husband and wife buy into, that their sex lives are gone, it’s a chore, or something they do 6 to 8 times per year. If the body isn’t having sex, then it thinks it’s genetic purpose is not needed and it might as well die.

For me, I think healthy is 3-4 times per week. I have to be attracted to my wife and able to channel that energy into my relationship with her. Too high, and that drive goes to fantasizing about others, too low and my penis is just doing time waiting for assisted living. The sweet spot is hard to describe, but I know it when I see it.

Mountain Man, you explained me totally. I'm 42 years old, married, and think my wife and average sex perhaps 6-8 times per year. We've been married for almost 13 years and it's always been like that. That doesn't sound normal at all. My libido right now won't even get me to 6 times this year. I've got my first consult with Defy on the 22nd, but I'm frustrated because I know I can't change my protocol until I've spoken to a doctor. I just want to get to the next level already. My energy, mood, and strength are perfectly on point right now. I just need the sagging libido and the ability to lose weight to appear.

Throughout all my research on health over the years I literally couldn’t agree with you more. Libido and ability to get an erection are two of the best ways for a man to tell if he is healthy or not without bloodwork. A decreasing libido is an obvious indicator that your hormones are off. And erection issues could be just from the hormones being off, but it can also be a good indicator that your cardiovascular system is declining and that you’re having blood flow issues. And if you’re having blood flow issues in your penis, you most likely are having blood flow issues throughout the rest of your body, including your brain.

And you’re absolutely correct. Once your hormones start to decline/ go out of balance, it’s how your body speeds up the process of aging/ death. If you lose your libido, that’s a huge red flag. You’re body no longer views itself as being healthy enough to reproduce, therefore it’s going to accelerate the death process so that you die and are no longer taking up valuable resources that fertile males could be using to procriate and keep the species going.
