Weekly shot lab timing

I have a question for those that do weekly injections. I’ve been on weekly injections for many years. I’ve been on TRT for close to 16 years now I do just fine doing once weekly injections. I normally do between 60–80 mg per week of cypionate. Recently, my doctor retired and I had to get another doctor and she is wanting me to do labs midway between injections. This is something I have never did and I’ve always did labs on the day of my shot before my shot. Sure I can just tell her that I’m doing them midway and not do it but I’m wondering if I have been doing it wrong over the years. Just wondering if I should be doing it midway between injections? I’d like to see what others are doing that are doing weekly injections as far as their lab timing. I feel great at this dose and normally at 70 mg I am 750ng or so on day seven. perhaps I’m a little high midway between but I feel good at this dose.

It is considered standard practice to measure testosterone at trough when on TRT. However, measuring at the midway point can give a better sense of your average level throughout the injection cycle. The danger here is that your doctor may see that it's pretty high and want to make some changes. That could be counterproductive, because you're doing well and the dose isn't excessive. But do be aware that your peak testosterone early in the cycle could be as high as 1,500-2,000 ng/dL.

That’s sorta what I was thinking regarding her seeing higher levels midway between injections. I might just keep it as is and tell her they’re drawn on shot shot as I’ve done for years. Measuring midway for some folks could in fact leave them hypogonadal at day seven. Luckily my levels stay elevated very well for extended durations.

She seems cool with everything but this one area which I think she’s just misinformed. I’m going to also take the cypionate literature that comes with the Pfizer vial to show her my next appointment.
