TRT Ups and Downs

Hey guys….new here and just looking for some guidance. I’m a 51 year old male who I consider in pretty good shape. 5’9” and 180 lbs. I do CrossFit 3-4 days a week. I take no prescription medications. Only a couple of supplements. Very healthy with no risk factors for ED. Beginning of this year, I started to notice my sex drive was not the same and my erections were not as strong. My wife and I have a very active sex life. I’m lucky enough that she’s ready all of the time. So that means I need to be ready. A couple of tries to go at it was unsuccessful and we were both in full panic mode. She of course was freaking out because I’ve never had a problem. My panic mode resulted in calling my friend who is a doctor and begging him to write me some Cialis to help in the short term. He was confident that this wasn’t a strictly ED problem. He was convinced it was low T. Of course the 5mg of Cialis daily was wonderful. My first total Testosterone was 297 and free was 51. I started daily Testosterone cream. Retested in June and I was 1018 with a free of 230. During this time I started taking the Cialis every other day. My doctor wanted me off of it because he said at that dose it wasn’t making a difference in my erections. In the meantime, sex was off the charts. Wife was even jokingly “complaining” about my erections. My Cialis prescription ran out around September. This October, my total testosterone was 1201. They didn’t draw a free. Anywho, the past couple of weeks, I’m back to where it all started. My sex drive is better than before but my strong erections are hit or miss. I will initially get hard during the start of foreplay but struggle to maintain it while pleasuring her. I’m still able to have sex but not fully erect sometimes. I will add that I’ve been awoken most nights with a raging boner. Like damn, what the hell?? What’s the reason for all of this? Testosterone too high? Estrogen maybe too high? Cortisol? Do I really have some form of ED? Was it the Cialis that helped and not raising my testosterone? Sorry for the long post. Just make it make sense….
