TRT & sex drive

I've searched and read 5 or 6 threads regarding this topic and there doesn't seem to be a common fix.

I started TRT (test cypionate 200mg week & arimidex 1mg EOD) on 8-25-16 and my sex drive was fine.

On 7-22-16, my E2 was 35.9 high (pg/mL 8.0-35.0)

On 10-14-16, my E2 was 19.3 (pg/mL 8.0-35.0)(doc wants it 15-20)

As of 11-4-16, I asked the doc if the arimidex could be affecting my sex drive and we dropped the arimidex to .5mg EOD.

Last week I was with this girl and it took forever to get hard and I barely came, I was like WTF!!!

I've been emailing back and forth with the doc and today I asked him if I need to be on hCG because otherwise I'm going to stop the TRT because this is no bueno.

Any suggestions?

Post full labs, it's harder to help with just a single hormone level in a vacuum, that's not how hormones work.

1mg EOD is a HUGE dose btw, even .5mg EOD is still really high! No wonder you have no sex drive! Men need E2 in order to have a sex drive.

Yes. What about 8/25/16 and 10/14/16? You only had an E2 test done those dates?

OK first of all, at a T dose of 200mg/week, 35.9 is not "high E2" - Its 0.9 above the lab range - which could easily be within the error range of the test or a lab error. Your Arimidex dose is ridiculously high and better TRT docs treat symptoms, not just lab ranges. Remember how your sex drive was fine before your doc added the huge dose of Arimidex?

Why did you start trt if your levels were 758? Am I missing something?

You're taking way too much ai. You've been on trt 2.5 months but haven't had full labs drawn? I'm so confused by everything here.

Those are your PRE trt labs? 758? Did you have any symptoms?

You're taking too much AI, and probably don't even need to be on TRT. Now you've lost your sex drive by taking too much AI.

Is not a very clear answer, you had pre TRT labs done and I assume those are the 758 testosterone level labs, but it's still rather ambiguous. I like to have clear answers before saying anything.

Did you have LH and FSH tested?

I honestly don't think your problems are low testosterone, A. because you weren't low and B. your libido was fine, and you only complained of vague symptoms like energy and stamina

I honest to god do not think you should have considered TRT or even been started on it for any reason whatsoever. 758 with sufficient E2, and a decent sex drive is amazing. Low energy and stamina can be caused by a bad nights sleep or just simply modern life.

You have very healthy levels and it'd be ashame to be on TRT for life when there is absolutely no reason.

Your situation is puzzling. You present with a pre-TRT total testosterone value that many here at EM would envy, and yet your doctor ordered up a TRT protocol. I can't imagine a doctor doing that when you complain of low energy and stamina. Did he explain exogenous testosterone would shut down your own natural production? That this was, most likely, a life-long commitment you were accepting? As for the Anastrozole dose, I can only agree that it is excessive, and another puzzle.

So, to sum up, you are not hypogonadal, but you have been on a TRT protocol since late August; you have taken excessive amounts of anastrozole, probably impeding your libido; you have shut down your body's natural testosterone production. The question you should consider is, where can I find another doctor? You deserve far better treatment than you are receiving.

Why use an AI at all? Why are you on a TRT protocol? You need an answer to both questions - for the sake of your health. Certainly drop the AI, but you need, at the very least, a second opinion and a doctor to sort out the state of your recently suppressed axis.
