Tingling in my fingers/hand...just started TRT

Hey all,

I just started TRT and yesterday would mark my third day injecting Test Cyp 80mg e3.5d. It’s the second time since I’ve started my protocol that my fingers have been tingling/slightly numb.

I’ve know that TRT rises hemocrit levels, and mine were at 43.1 prior to a 3 month Clomid restart.

Even though my labs aren’t due with Defy for 3 months, I planned to get test/estrogen levels checked on week 6 since I’m not including an AI yet. Should I also include the test that would measure hemocrit levels?

Should I be worried? Definately don’t want a stroke or anything!

You're way off base about relating this to HCT. It's more likely water retention or an increase if IGF-1, like Growth Hormone from the Pituitary, which can be a positive side effect of TRT. Besides the tingling which I deal with, it's rather benign.

I too have the tingling sensation in my hands from TRT. First it was just in my right hand I thought it was carpal tunnel.
That was ruled out and then to a lesser degree it started in my left hand as well.

I was able to dig up some reports of this from others in TRT but it seems to be rather rare.

I agree with Vince...I highly doubt it is high HCT. Mine runs in the mid 40’s so it was not the cause.

Haha you definitely don’t have to worry about a stroke at this point. And it’s almost definitely not high HCT that’s the issue. Mine was 53 on my last blood test, and I’ve never had this issue. It’s most like water retention from E2 elevating or IGF-1 elevating. If it’s IGF-1 that’s causing it, that should level off. I’ve never heard of anyone getting the tingling in their fingers from natural IGF-1 levels. It’s only when they exogenously I crease it that I’ve heard of this happening. So most likely E2 related. The only thing I can think of that would cause this is inflammation or low b12. And testosterone is one of the best antiinflamatories there is. So if you didn’t have this before TRT, I doubt you would have more inflammation now. So also check your b12 level. But again, if you didn’t have this before TRT, it’s unlikely that TRT would cause your b12 level to drop. So everything seems to point to E2, from what I can tell. It might level off. I would definitely give it some time before considering messing with your E2.

I had this for a while when I first started TRT. After four months I switched to HCG Mono, now on Test/HCG and it hasn't returned. If you dig hard enough you'll find other reports of this. I do not recall it ever being a result of high HCT, and that has not been the case for me.

Funny thing is, I bought some b12 injectables and my first shot was 5 days ago (never done it in the past). 1,000mcg is what I administered. Could it be the b12 tapering off? Maybe I should split the dose and do every 3 or 4 days.

I’ve thought about high E2 levels too. Before TRT and a failed Clomid Restart, my E2 was at 10. After administering Clomid for 3 months, it was at 30. I discontinued the Clomid and took my first Test Cyp dose 3 days later. I’m currently on day 10 since starting without an AI.

I have it on hand, but will wait until I see bloods. It’s going to be tempting if I get side effects, but easier now I can get feedback from the forum.
