Hello:
I wasn’t sure where to post this but with some recent labs I am wondering about the quality of my compounded testosterone cyp. I had been using an expired vial until February and was doing fine. I had a new prescription and during the next few weeks after starting I began to feel not so well, sleep disturbance, anxiety, all symptoms of too high or too low. The year before I had to lower my dose since my free took a big jump (on 53 mg/wk for over a year) TT 515 and free 180 at trough (low SHBG around 11). I really do better at a peak of 160 free.
So after long discussions with the doctor and pharmacy we thought the medication was compromised since it was left in the freezing cold. I went back to the expired vials and started to come out of it and feel decent again. Two weeks later the new vials arrived and I started feeling bad again after starting. It has been three weeks and labs taken after a week to 10 days of starting the new medication show a total T of 276 and a free of 87. 50% drop! It has been brutal. Exactly like I experienced with the last batch and it isn’t getting better. We did lower the dose slightly but I was experiencing the downturn in February BEFORE any adjustment and feeling better after going back to the old vials. It’s like I am injecting half my dose. I checked to make sure the strength and it’s still 200 mg/ml. No change in injecting site. I am thinking of asking for non-compounded testosterone and would prefer Pfizer if I can get it. The labs taken match exactly how I am feeling.
Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If I can’t get a new medication for a month what do I do? Take labs to see where I am now? Inject more now? Go back to the old medication? (although only 3 to 4 weeks remaining). I have an appointment in a little over a week and can gut it out but being pretty much hypogonadal as you all know is not fun. At first I wondered if I wasn’t taking test up anymore but then realized when I used the older expired medication I felt better. Any suggestions on testosterone companies you all have had good luck with consistent quality?
Thank you.
