Testosterone Loss

Hey guys, I just injected 50mg with a 25g 1" needle (no aspiration) into my upper glute and when I withdrew the needle, a significant amount of blood came oozing out (I did leave the needle in the muscle belly for 10 seconds before withdrawing).

My questions is, did I lose any of the testosterone by it leaking out with the blood?

Sounds like you hit a small blood vessel which happens from time to time; but rare in the glute to be honest.

You'd be better off going deeper in the glute with a 1 1/4" needle.

You probably lost a little bit of testosterone but it's nothing to worry about.

Next time make sure to have a cotton swab ready to put immediate pressure on in the injection site if it happens again...which it probably won't for some time, as I said, it's a rare event.

Thanks Gene. I used to use a 1.5" needle, but it was too much of a harpoon for me to deal with. I placed pressure on it and it stop after 10 seconds or so. Hopefully I didn't lose too much of the "man juice" goodness! :D

Understanding Your Hormones

Estradiol (E2)

A form of estrogen produced from testosterone. Important for bone health, mood, and libido. Too high can cause side effects; too low can affect well-being.

DHT

Free Testosterone

The biologically active form of testosterone not bound to proteins. Directly available for cellular uptake and biological effects.
