Testosterone after Finasteride

Hi Guys,
I'm about 4 weeks into my TRT consisting of 150mgs Cyp split into 2 shots and 250 iu's of hcg the day of the cyp. Unfortunately my sex drive is still tanked, I can achive an erection, but maintaing it is tough and orgasm is dull and weak, even with daily Cialis use.
I recently stopped using Finastride for hair loss and did fine while on it, but now I'm fearfull that stopping it has affected my sexdrive. Does anyone here have any experience with this? I'm not sure whether to try and go back on it, or try and ride it out. I've read some info regarding a crash after use and it seems to be the only culprit being as sex drive was fine prior.
Any thoughts or opinions would be much appreciated.

Finasteride has a terrible reputation. It is well-known for producing sexual side effects (erectile dysfunction, loss of libido) that last even following discontinuation of the drug. How much were you prescribed and how long did you take it? What does the doctor managing your TRT protocol say in regard to this issue?

I used to take Finasteride years ago (1mg QD) for my hair. Thankfully I had the common sense to quit taking it after my sex drive tanked. Lucky for me, my sex drive returned after a while. Suffice it to say that I will never take that stuff again...Never!

PB, it's up to you, but I wouldn't ever take that crap (finasteride) again.

5mg a day?? Were you taking it for BPH?

Yeah I didn't read the warning on the meds before I started taking them. I had heard unfavorable things about finasteride, but I figured I'd loook into it "later". When I finally got around to google searching, the whole first page was plastered with men who had been wrecked by the drug. I quit taking it immediately. I have not had a system crash like other men. But I have not got off scott free either.

I was taking it for about 2 1/2 years, and had really no sides. Sex drive was good, it was only after I stopped I had issues. I was taking 1mg/day. Dr really doesn't have an opinion on it. He's an anti aging Dr.

Thanks, I really don't wanna start it again, but if discontinuing it killed my sex drive, I was hoping getting back on it would help. Not sure at all, just hoping or something to change this dead libido. Been off it for about a month now.

Are you going to get some labs done in the next couple of weeks? Maybe your E2 is out of whack. I would definitely be getting my sensitive E2 level checked.

Like Jackie said, a full testosterone panel would help. Some inject hcg every day to help their libido.

Get your DHT checked as well. I bet it is very very low as that is what Finastaride does - lower your DHT. DHT is not 'evil' and it is necessary for libido, low DHT = low to no libido.

Yes, waiting on a sensitive e2 test as we speak, will be getting more bloods done at the six week mark also. My initial e2 was only 5. So I'm hoping it's rising, and I'm starting to get some morning wood, and a little sex drive, but nothing like it was. Thanks

Do I need a specific test for DHT? I checked my blood work, but didn't find a test for DHT?
