I did a clinical sleep apnea test in 2007 and paid well over $5000 to get clinical testing done. Back then my insurance covered everything. If you don't have insurance it could be a problem and this sleep apnea problem needs to be controlled. I just saw this on CPAP.com. I have been using them for years to by equipment and accessories.

You can use a smart watch to record your O2 levels when you sleep. If your Levels get low you probably should test. If your levels are good you probably don't have a problem.

Does this test kit actually qualify as an official diagnosis for insurance purposes and medical documentation?

It should, years back my old doctor insisted on me doing a home test before he would write a prescription. Insurance paid the entire amount. As I understand, a real doctor reviews the results and writes a prescription that is kept on file at CPAP.com
