Reducing E2 level

I have elevated E2 level- 88 pg/ml. Doc cut my biweekly dose of test cyp from 80 mg twice weekly to 60 twice weekly. He also switched my 300 IU HCG injection from same day as test pin to day before, approx. how long would it take to reduce E2 level and become symptom free, educated guess? Doc prescribed a one time dose of 1MG of Anastrozole, which I took last Monday as well. Thanks.

Was it the sensitive e2 test? 1mg seems pretty high for an anastrozole dose.

no not the sensitive. I agree about the 1Mg dose. It was just a one time deal. just wondering how long it would take to reduce E2 level by reduction in dose with no AI.

I don't see that a reduced dose, as high as your test (the wrong test as noted above) is going to make any appreciable difference. Some, sure, but not THAT much. I don't see swapping days for HCG making any real difference, either. And 1mg is an overdose, one-time, or not.

My advice if you want to not take an AI to manage your E2 is to spread your injections out...maybe three per week @ 50mg...something like that where the cumulative dose remains the same but by injecting less Cyp more frequently, there will be less excess to aromatize.

Steve, since you're using the wrong E2 lab, are you having symptoms of high estrogen. I think the best way to Judge high E2 is by symptoms.

I know, my joints have been extremely painful came on real quick, noticed I've been a little short tempered also. I have talked to several people on here. But I've been out of range on test level also. I was taking 80 mg of test Cyp twice a week with 300Iu HCG same time, that's it. Total test came back 1893, free 50.2, and E2 -88.I'm on my 5 month or TRT, and trying to establish a protocol that suits my body. Started out at Total 169, free 2.4 and E2-21. At what point does a low dose Ai become a necessary?

The use of an AI can't be linked to a simple number. Numbers are important, and you should NEVER introduce an AI when the estradiol test you are relying on is notorious for overestimating E2 in men, but numbers only tell half the story. An experienced doctor works with the estradiol value, considers the T/E ratio, reviews the current protocol, and considers the patient's subjective symptoms. It makes sense to try and manage elevated readings by adjusting injection frequency and manipulating the total weekly dose of testosterone first. Anastrozole is a drug that has a place in a TRT protocol, but it is a potent medication and another factor to balance. So...you may not need 160mg of testosterone a week in order to receive the benefits of TRT. Less testosterone, injected more frequently can lower your estardiol level.
