Dang I just started the paper work with Defy. My efforts may be in vein.
Off TRT right now(45days) my Hemoglobin and Hematocrit run high naturally or maybe it is because I live at 6200 ft above sealevel.
May 9th bloodwork #'s Hemoglobin 17.2g/dL (12.6-17.7) and Hematocrit 50.5% (37.5-51)

Any TRT will probably push me right over the top and I would have wasted a lot of time and money.

Can you donate blood, instead of stopping TRT.

Hi Vince, I am off my TRT for a different medical reason right now.
I just had blood work done (no T for 47days) that was how I know what my Hemoglobin and Hematocrit happen to be sans TRT.

I plan to go ahead and have my first consult with a Defy Doc and see what they recommend. Following this thread since this could be my future as well.

I started TRT with Defy back in January. I just had my first blood work done less than a month ago and my HCT, RBC and Hemo came back high. Defy immediately took me off TRT and wouldn't renew my script. Honestly, I wasn't happy and didn't think it was the right thing to do since I was just starting to feel good. I set up a consultation with Doctor Chrisler to get a second opinion. He talked to me for over an hour about my situation. He told me what I needed to do and renewed my script for Testosterone and Hcg, obviously making some changes to my protocol and lifestyle. Honestly, I wish I would've started with doctor Crisler in the first place. Not only does he talk to you himself, he gets you right in. Also, i always felt like a number with Defy between talking to a nurse, another nurse, a physician's assistant, and different people in the office. And I feel a whole lot better dealing with an actual doctor as I never talked to one at Defy, just the doctors people. I think Defy is just too big and unpersonalized for me. I was even prescribed injectable vitamin B12 by them which is something I asked about and I clearly didn't need. Just my 2 cents. Doctor Crisler is my TRT doctor and I'm much happier and is also less expensive.

Did Dr. Crisler allow you to continue your TRT with your HCT at 56? I'm a little confused by this, but that's what it sounds like.

Well not necessarily. He was just much faster at rectifying the situation. Lets just say so for Dr Crisler is much better for me and I was a Defy patient.

Giannid - I sincerely hope you find a TRT regimen that will work for you LONGTERM and provide the results that you seek, but also the safety that you need. Please work with Dr Crisler to attempt to uncover a potential root cause to your erythrocytosis (including potential sleep apnea) so that you may achieve that longterm safety.

That's good, just curious what worked for you, and I imagine others that are facing the same situation in this thread would be curious too.

My original script was for every 8 weeks. I got a new script for every 4 weeks. Red cross accepted that. It takes a couple of weeks to get set up thru red cross. I pay $60 per visit. They hand me an envelope already filled out with an invoice and I mail a check from home.

While the time you get set up with a new red cross script may be about the same time as your next phlebotomy, at least you will be set up for next time. I call a central number somewhere and and they make the appt with me on the while on the phone. They then send my paperwork to the local red cross center.

See if Defy will write you a new script for monthly donations.

Do they check your pulse and blood pressure before performing the therapeutic phelobotomy?
