Prolactin High End (13.0 ng/ml (4.0 - 15.2) - Is Cabergoline Justified?

I've searched many post about Cabergoline and at what Prolactin levels is it justified but - can't find any answers as to what blood test levels justifies its use. I know Gene has posted he is using this .5 BIW and that Dr. Shippen prescribes this to his patients on testosterone therapy with low libido but again, no reference as to what Prolactin blood levels are prior to starting Cabergoline.

I have been on T therapy for about 18 months now and have noticed an uptick on libido but, I'm still missing a piece of the puzzle. On a scale of 1-10, I would rate my libido at 5 and with the help of Levitra and Viagra. My testicles are somewhat shrunken on HCG 250mg EOD which should have taken care of that. Like I said, I'm missing a piece of the puzzle somewhere and, maybe elevated Prolactin is that piece. T and Free T in line along with other blood work, but I do have high SHBG.

Prolactin tested 4/28/16 came back 13.0 ng/ml with range of 4.0 - 15.2 so I am 85% of the high range.

If you have had yours tested and are now taking Cabergoline, would greatly appreciate your comments and experience. I have a consult coming up with Dr. Crisler and hopefully will have some expert opinions here about starting Cabergoline.

It varies from person to person. I have used Cabergoline in the past to lower prolactin a bit (I was never very high) and it did nothing at all for me - I could feel no difference at all. Some guys do notice an improvement in libido though. Be aware that having prolactin go too low is just as bad as having it on the high side.

You are not going to notice much difference at all since you are already in normal range. Caber is a very strong drug, I wouldn't recommend taking it unless you have to....and for sure wouldn't take it if you are already in normal range.

Good luck

Your prolactin is not high, it is in normal range. Mine was 37 and though high it wasn't freaky high, libido was still good and I did take caber to see if it could improve. It did nothing.

What I have taken that helped libido and drop water weight is proviron, it also lowers SHBG though mine is low already.

Id like to follow along here with Prolactin, I'm on the opposite end though, trying to raise mine from 4 or 5.

Thanks ERO, MAX AND HTX! This is the feedback I was looking for. What an excellent forum to find answers from guys who have experienced an issue rather than from a website.

Max, where do you get your proviron? Noticed there are some steroid websites where you can purchase but, was curious if your doctor prescribed this for you from a pharmacy. I'm not that fond of purchasing a drug from a website overseas. Thanks!

If you're taking any Nor 19 compounds, e.g. Deca, a little caber can do wonders if you're experiencing any ED sides, and/or just getting the dang thing to 'finish' if you know what I mean?
