Prescribed 200mg of Nandrolone

I have been on TRT for 18 months, and am currently on 150mg cypionate a week after feeling sluggish and poor on 100mg of cyp. 150 seems to be in the "goldilocks zone" for me. However, the new clinic I am with prescribed me 200mg of Nandrolone a week for joint pain. From everything I understand, 350mg of anabolics (in total) is basically a low-dose cycle.

Testing for hematacrit, RBC, and liver count aside, how long can one even run 200 mg of nandrolone? My previous clinic had me on 60 mg of nandrolone a week, and told me I could run it for five months on and one month off, but 200 mg is over 3x what I was given before.

I know everyone will have differing tolerances, but has anyone run this dose safely and for how long?

Thank you for any advice.

The therapeutic dose of ND for treating joint/bone pain is 50-100 mg/week some may go slightly higher but 200 mg/week would never be needed.

The addition of ND will increase the overall androgen load of your T protocol.

150 mg T + 200 mg ND/week is a hefty dose of androgens!

Overkill for HRT.

Your clinic is out to lunch if they are trying to throw you on such dose to treat joint pain.

If your goal was to throw on some mass sure but this dose is well beyond therapeutic.

Keep in mind that even though ND is much milder when it comes to androgenic sides it can still drive up the hematocrit and drive down HDL if the dose is too high or you are overly sensitive.

Looking over one of your threads you posted on here you were already struggling with elevated hematocrit on your T only protocol most likely due to running a high trough/steady-state FT!

You better plan on training smarter if you are going to be f**king with ND otherwise you will end up beating this s**t out of your joints/tendons in the long-run.

* As my hematocrit is already somewhat high after being on TRT for four months

I appreciate it.

Hematocrit has been better since I started Naringin (grapefruit extract). Last blood test placed hematocrit at 45, and my RBC was normal despite going to 150 from 100 mg cypionate, so Naringin has definitely helped over the months I have been taking it.

If therapeutic is 50-100mg for Nandrolone, do you agree with the previous assessment that I had from a PA in that I could take 50-100 mg for five months on and one month off continuously? Provided bloods were normal?

I do not believe you need to cycle Nandrolone. Same with testosterone or HCG. I've never cycled either the two.

Vince, thank you for posting that video!

I just watched the part about Nelson saying he took 200mg of nandrolone for years. That is remarkable! I don't plan on doing that, but it is great to hear he stayed healthy, as he monitored hematocrit and cholesterol levels.

I do remember reading somewhere (and maybe he covers this later in the video, as I am not finished yet) that he said he stopped taking nandrolone for fear of the left ventricle being enlarged.

Is heart enlargement common at these doses in men who take it for long periods of time?

Your hematocrit is well within range now but you always need to make sure your ferritin/iron are sitting in a healthy range especially if you are one that gets caught up on that donating too frequently merry-go round!

It is common for most to stay on therapeutic doses 50-100 mg ND/week with T-therapy as your chance of sides are minimal unless you are overly sensitive and you would need to stay on to maintain the benefits.

Others may choose to cycle on/off to give the body a break.

Comes down to the individual.

Yes there are some men who struggle with mental sides even when using lower doses but it is far from common.

I did donate about a month ago, but when they checked my hematocrit, it was only at 46, so hopefully I will not need to donate as regularly as I did before the Grapefruit extract.

I do need to ask my doctor to check my iron levels, though, so I appreciate you mentioning that.

Mental sides have been good. On 60 mg of nandrolone, I felt better, and my libido increased. I have only been on the 200mg of nandrolone for a week, so potential sides will make themselves known soon. The first thing I have noticed is gaining 3 lbs in this first week, which will mostly have been water (no edema, though - the water seems to have gone straight to my muscle). I also noticed immediate joint relief. When I took 60mg of nandrolone before, it took about 6 weeks before I truly felt better joint-wise.

However, after our discussion, I am seriously considering just lowering the dose to 100mg.

Thanks again!

Definitely need to stay on top of your ferritin/iron if you are donating and even then need to make sure your levels stay healthy.

Bad move going from 60---> a whopping 200 mg ND/week.

You just did a 360 here.

If anything you should have bumped it up to 80 or 100 mg.

200 mg is overkill and well over the dose needed.

A week means nothing as it will take much longer to reach steady-state than TC/TE (4-6 weeks) due to the PK of the decanoate ester.

Understanding Your Hormones

Estradiol (E2)

A form of estrogen produced from testosterone. Important for bone health, mood, and libido. Too high can cause side effects; too low can affect well-being.

DHT

Dihydrotestosterone is a potent androgen derived from testosterone. Affects hair growth, prostate health, and masculinization effects.

Free Testosterone

The biologically active form of testosterone not bound to proteins. Directly available for cellular uptake and biological effects.
