I just received my recent blood work and my results were
testosterone 778ng/dl
Free testosterone 20.5 pg/ml
estradiol sensative 22.2 pg/ml

all labcorp values

my question is , I have been expieriencing mood swings, headache, low erectile function, tiredness, and few others. Could this be low E2 or is there something else I should test?

thanks

How long have you been on your current protocol (and can you provide some details)? Your E2 isn't at a level where most men would have problems - what was it before treatment began? Erectile issues are frequently persistent problems for TRT patients, even after serum levels have stabilized. Were the issues you describe troublesome prior to the start of TRT? What about your thyroid numbers, TSH, T3, T4, RT3, and antibodies, along with cortisol? Can you provide those?

I would think it's caused by something else, but what. Do you have any problems, any other meds that you are on.

My protocol is 50mg x 2 week , no AI, no hcg ( last 2 years) within the last month I switch to EOD 28mg. My others meds I take are a few supplements and 2.5mg cialis daily. Yes these symptoms were present before TRT . My test level before TRT was 390. Also the only thyroid lab I have is from 3 years ago which was only TSH was 3.4. Had morning cortisol done about year ago I remember is being a few points below the high mark. Some days libido and erection are great most of the time they are not, same goes for mood.

Though your free testosterone is reasonable, your total testosterone could increase a bit. You need a full thyroid workup. Your TSH of 3.4 should have tipped your doctor that something was going on. Oh, sure, you were in the range, but something was dinging your system. Don't let your physician pull another TSH and, if below a value of 4.0, tell you you're "normal." Ask for T3, T4, RT3, and TPO antibodies.

Would the testosterone going a little higher help? Or can my thyroid be causing this havoc? Should I look to test anything else? I will be calling to make another appt with my doc.

Where is DHT? I only ask cause i had all these symptoms with a DHT of 16 and 34 on 2 different test. I added HCG and DHT went into the High 70s, symptoms that you list seem to have subsided for the most part. I noticed the biggest difference in the bedroom, on both fronts.

I kept thinking it was e2 related, Even convinced myself that HCG lowered e2 for me. It all became much clearer as to why HCG helped me so much after my last dht labs came back.

I had dht tested twice , was 32 and 38. I will need to switch doctors to get hcg. I have got all my paper work to defy just saving up for the consult and initial med cost. Actually took hcg about 6 months ago ordered from reliable but I got no effect from it so not sure it was real, did that for six weeks.

If you're going with Defy, simply be candid with them and they'll help you sort it out.

Not sure now that I started reading about TSH, can the thyroid really effect erections? Just starting to read about it more , seems to point to libido.

Not every TRT patient, but the vast majority of them, find that erectile issues aren't resolved by TRT 100% of the time. Cialis, or one of its cousins, on a daily basis is frequently employed. As are nitric oxide boosters. As for your thyroid, you had a TSH that should have alerted your doctor to dig deeper. No digging was done. It needs to be sorted out. It may well have a bearing on your mood issues. When will you be in touch with Defy?

I am hoping to have enough next paycheck which is end of next week to pay the $195 to get the lab script and get an appt scheduled. I really appreciate the info. Just would like to become more stable. I get a taste of feeling good and it goes away. Also if it matters I am 36

Yes, I am with Defy and I am taking a combination T3/T4 capsule for thyroid.

Did you notice anything by optimizing your thyroid? Also in another post you mentioned nothing has help in terms of libido, Did it lower overtime or just never was there? Also if you don't mind how old are you?

I am in the small percentage of guys where TRT just doesn't really work when you define 'work' as in feeling any substantive improvements from a Low T state. My Test and HCG feel like I am injecting water and the T3/T4 feels like a sugar pill. My libido was strong from puberty until late 40s when I found out I had Low T. I am 51 now.
