Hi guys,
I'm 34 years old. I have been having some issues that led me to believe I need trt. Found a Hrt doctor. He sent me for blood work that only consisted of my testosterone levels nothing more. I went back to the doc and he gave me my results. My test level was 300 and my free t was low I just dont remember the number. He perscribed ne 200mg test enanthate/1mg of anastrozole and 1/4 an hcg pill 3 times a week. The test and anastrozole are mixed together so I can not control the amount of AI I take. First two injections went well a little bit of anxiety. The third injection however wasn't so great. For the first three days i got headaches, warm feeling in my left foot, chest tightness and really bad anxiety. I'm nervous about taking my next injection. Any advice tips anything would be greatly appreciated!!! After those three days I felt good. I asked my doctor to send me for a blood test he should be sending them to me today. I thought about lowering my dosage or just quiting it all together. I felt like I was gonna have a heart attack!!

You should run not walk away from this doctor, never heard of HCG pills before. This doctor is out of his depth in treating men with hormone deficiencies. Your doctor prescribe the AI mixed in with the testosterone without even running the necessary tests to see if you even need an AI.

No SHBG test to determine which injection frequency is best for you, only a cookie cutter protocol designed for the masses and not you specifically.

This doctor has no idea what he's doing therefore is unable to assist you in any way.

Only .125 anastrozole is enough to knock my estrogen down to the single digits and you took ten times as much. What are you going to do when you realise the AI dose needs to be decreased? You will have to throw away that entire vial of testosterone, money in the trash.

What was your doctor thinking or was he thinking at all?

October. The pill is finasteride sorry

Finasteride, the pill that causes permanent physical, mental, and emotional symptoms, I've heard of it, has your doctor? Your brain, testicles and your entire body depends upon DHT and your doctor believes it's a good idea to block this very necessary hormone why?

Atypical post-finasteride syndrome: A pharmacological riddle

Post-Finasteride Syndrome

Post-Finasteride Syndrome Therapy | Matthew Bruhin & Associates
The Post-Finasteride Syndrome is a serious state of permanent sexual, mental, and physical side effects which do not resolve after quitting the drug, most often accompanied by an acquired form of secondary hypogonadism and post-drug loss of androgenic action, which remains highly resistant to hormonal treatments aimed at restoring Testosterone/DHT’s effects in the male body to pre-drug virility levels. It is also surmised by the few specialists in the medical field that a type of receptor or “brain damage” has occurred. As often seen with such damage, recovery is very slow or now questioned whether possible at all. Needless to say, men suffering from PFS are plagued with any physical, mental, and emotional symptoms that have led to long term depression, marital problems and divorce, and now several reports cases of suicide.

Something you should know, very few endocrinologists have any knowledge about TRT as they are more into thyroid and diabetes and few no much of anything related to TRT.

All my endo's had zero knowledge and didn't know how to manage my hormones because medical school doesn't prepare them for hormonal treatments like TRT. Most of us who are members here or on any other forum had the exact same experienced and were forced to seek private care.

Insurance is almost useless for TRT.

Hey DoDirty, welcome to the forum. It looks like your doctor "DidYouDirty".

You should just chalk up your experience with this doctor as a mistake and a learning experience......and move onto someone who will actually look out for your best interest. You are experiencing what many others experience...........a doctor who has no clue how to work with hormones.Everything he prescribed; combing the AI into your testosterone and giving you finasteride - without testing anything but Total and Free Testosterone is just sad.

After talking to everyone I'm definitely done. Any suggestions for doctors near Pittsburgh pa?

Your best chance is going private and seeking a doctor that's been doing TRT for decades, not some doctor that's just getting his/her feet with in TRT. I live in California and I can't find any doctor under insurance who has any sort of clue what they are doing.

Hormones are almost completely ignored in medical school so seeing a doctor who takes insurance makes little sense at this point, the majority will be TRT ignorant.

There are a lot of members here who are with Defy Medical who offers telemedicine.
