Hi all, new guy here. I've been lurking for a while, exchanged some pms (thanks Madman) and thought I'd join the party. I'm 60 years old and in the past year I've notice dwindling energy and long post workout recovery. It peaked a couple of months ago so I checked in with my doctor. I didn't think it was testosterone deficiency as I have been able to stay strong, and even increase strength even at 60. He ran some tests, did bloodwork and we decided to try a dose of Androgel to if it would help. I know Androgel generally gets a pretty bad rap around here, so I wasn't expecting much. Low and belold, after a couple of weeks I began to notice my energy levels getting better and now 6 weeks in I feel pretty good. Workout recovery is excellent. Pre-treatment a heavy deadlift or squat day would leave me annihilated for 4 or 5 days, now I'm sore the next day and just slightly sore the day after. It's been pretty good and I'm generally pretty happy with the results. For the most part, especially during the week, Androgel is easy to use. Shower, apply, get dressed and go to work. It's the weekends that are a problem. I'm pretty active and every activity involves major sweating. I've been getting up at 5am and applying the Androgel, putting on a tshirt and going back to bed. I try and get 5 hours before getting out and sweating which seems to be the recommended time. It's a bit of a pain in the ass, sometimes I can get back to sleep, sometimes not (like today) and being awake at 5am on the weekend isn't my dream situation. I've thought of applying it when I get back during the day, but sometimes I'm out for most of the day and this would mean I'm not applying until late afternoon/evening.
Does anyone have any suggestions? While injectibles may be the ultimate path forward, the Androgel is pretty easy for me right now and above all, it's working and I feel good. It's just the timing on the weekends that's troublesome.
