Your injections are way too far apart. Too much at once and too spread out. At the start your Testosterone will go through the roof (along with your estrogen) and after about a week your test levels will begin to drop low. From what I have learned from Dr's, other trt people, and personal experience 1 week between injections is the longest you want to go and twice a week is ideal for steady testosterone levels and lower estrogen spikes. If you like your Dr. try and explain this to him or print out some information about the half life of Test Cyp injections. But in my opinion you should probably find a new Dr. Once a month injections will pretty much have you worse off than you were before you started.

Jay I agree with Htx, you really do need a new doctor. The doctor protocol definitely is going to cause lots of problems. Your testosterone levels are going to be very high and very low. Most do better on twice a week injections, every 3 1/2 days and self inject.

Thank you both for the advice. I will speak with my DR. on Wednesday and see what she does if not I will seek out a new Dr.

You'll get nowhere without a solid relationship with your doctor. By all means, discuss your concerns about the protocol that was prescribed, and if you don't feel that you are being treated as a full partner in your care, move on.

Jay, welcome to EM, glad you joined!! It just baffles me a doctor will prescribe something like this, without having a single clue how it works!! When you get to the 1x per month plan, here's what will happen ... You will be right back to baseline in the 16 to 20 day range.

Active life of cypionate is around 14 days, although serum levels are still usually declining for a short period thereafter. Half-life is around 7 days, but the actual "Peak" profile of the medication is around 2 to 3 days after injecting, which is why so many administer smaller amounts 2x per week. No crazy "highs", no crazy "lows"! Keeps serum levels stable, and it provides better E2 management.

At 200mg, if you draw a serum lab, you would probably fall somewhere in the 900ng/dl to 1100ng/dl range +/- a little at around the 3 day mark. By Day 20, you will be < 250ng/dl or much less. You can run the labs if you don't believe me, but your body will be telling you somewhere after the 7 to 8 day range that things are sliding downward. So, it's like 2/3 of your monthly protocol will be a gradual building of misery! That's obviously not the purpose & objective of TRT, it's supposed to help you feel better. She doesn't understand this type of treatment, and no doubt she won't have any understanding of how to manage E2, and HCG administration if you were diagnosed Secondary.

Hi Jay, Have you really been put on a six month course of TRT before? Then what? They leave you with a shut down axis and toss you in the trash? Holly cow!!!

I appreciate all the help and advise guys. Where should I go from here?

I urge you to find another doctor. Many of our members rely on Defy Medical. Using a telemedicine model, they treat patients across the United States. Though I am not a patient, I did consult them but have excellent local care, but thye have two of the best TRT practitioners in the country on staff. No hard sell, everything explained up front, check their site or call them.
