Nature Throid and low levels of Free T3

I'm wondering if anyone has any input about Nature Throid and my thyroid numbers.

First test

TSH - 1.0 (.5 - 4.7)

2nd test

TSH - 1.3 (.5 - 4.7 )
Free T3 2.5 (2.3 - 4.2)
Free T4 .96 (.73 - 1.95)

After this my doctor told me that my T3 was too low and not in optimal range, so he prescribed Nature Throid 1 grain. I took that for about a month and had the following tests retaken.

3rd test

TSH .8 (.5 - 4.7 )
Free T3 2.4 (2.3 - 4.2)
Free T4 .98 (.73 - 1.95)

Can anyone make sense of these numbers? My T3 actually went down after taking it for a month. SO the doctor recommended taking One and a half grain and wrote me a prescription.

Could this level of T3 be causing symptoms? I know it's within range but apparently it's not optimal. It should be 3.5 or higher.

Also by taking this, am I basically shutting down my thyroid? I don't really want to be stuck on this med for life.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
