Been doing TRT for maybe 15 years, starting at ~60. My only noticeable side effect has been my hematocrit levels, which slowly crept up over the years. My urologist had me reduce T-Cyp dose from 100mg/week to 75mg/week, then finally 50mg/week, and that helped keep hematocrit levels at ~50. But about a year ago, my hematocrit hit 52 and doc was saying I may have to quit TRT. I also had symptoms, headaches, flushing, etc.... I could feel it... Doc suggested blood donation.
For some strange reason, I had been reluctant to donate blood. Anyway, I finally bit the bullet and donated blood, which was surprisingly easy, no big deal at all, and it's completely free! Then 3 months later donated again, then two weeks after that had bloodwork done and hematocrit was now at 45.7!
So for any of you guys struggling with hematocrit......................
