Metformine and SHBG

Hi, I read a study stating that metformin lowers testosterone. Since I'm on TRT, I don't see this as a problem since testosterone is supplemented anyway. The study also states that metformin significantly raises SHBG. My question is whether this could somehow influence the effect of TRT. Is free testosterone low even while on TRT? Should I increase my testosterone dosage to compensate for high SHBG? Or is there no need to do anything?
I'm asking these questions because TRT has helped me (unfortunately not sexually) with more energy, but lately, having to take metformin, it seems like something has changed for the worse. Thanks in advance for any clarification. Best regards, Alessandro
Notes: 66 years old. Second year of TRT with 120 mg of testosterone in three subcutaneous injections weekly. Three 250 IU injections of gonadotropin per week. Hematocrit just above the normal range. I have no recent tests.
