Iron overload

Hi guys.

Just after some advice.

As you can see my transferring saturation is off the scales and im wondering if it could be lab error as I have no symptoms what so ever. I cycle 50km, hiking, tennis, weight circuits etc. Surely I wouldnt be to do this with a saturation of 80.

My iron is slightly high but im putting that down to the dose increase on trt.

Basically im Just after some input from you guys cheers

If ferritin is also high, I would say it strongly points towards iron overload .

Why is that?

Does testosterone increase serum iron?

Because the symptoms of high transfer saturation is fatigue and a lot of other symptoms. And I simply haven't got the symptoms that come with it. Plus my tibc is normal.

It was a finger prick test also not venous so i thinking it could hqvs something to do with thag .

High serum Iron, low TIBC, high TS% does point to Iron overload indeed but where does your Ferritin sit? Also run a proper venous test to know all these again if you can. I had same and Ferritin sub 400ish. Ran DNA tests and found that I have Hemochromatosis but rarer mutation and don't recall which type. So def get all that checked out and see if thats really a "thing" for you as well. Hope thats just a fluke but without testing we just guessing. Good luck.

Thanks for your input my friend. I have had numerous tests in the past and my transferring saturation has been totally fine so was just a bit curious.

I also just upped my dose from 70mg to 94mg a few days before the test so not to sure if that has anything to do with it.

I'll try book in a venous test amd see if anything is different. Cheers Fella
