How often SHOULD you cheat when cutting/dieting?

I tried to research this, but only found the question, how often DO you cheat? People gave various answers from once or twice a week to once a month and commented on how its nescesary to "shock" the system so it doesn't go into starvation mode.

My question is what is optimal way to cheat (how often) to get the best "shock" and keep things working?

Keep in mind, I am very serious about bodybuilding, I know a cheat meal once a week won't hurt. The thing is, I could go months eating completely clean without a desire to cheat, but I'm worried that would actually do more harm than good? Anyone know scientifically how often we should have a cheat day, and should it be a full day or just one meal?

My personal trainer suggest me to try cheat meal day once in a month so first Saturday of each month is cheat meal day for me and i eat whatever i want
