once you inject test prop how long for the prop to actually become usable by the body?

There are two steps here. After an injection the testosterone propionate must first be absorbed from the depot, which is under the skin or in a muscle. This is the slow part, with a half-life of 0.8 days. That is, it takes almost a day for half of the depot to be absorbed. There is a constant slow trickle of testosterone propionate being absorbed.

The second step occurs as testosterone propionate enters the bloodstream after absorption. There the propionate ester is cleaved from the testosterone, and the testosterone becomes available to do useful things. The removal of the ester is relatively fast, occurring within minutes of the testosterone propionate entering the blood.

My own measurements suggest the peak is no later than 2-4 hours post-injection.
