Don't donate if your iron is low. You will feel very crappy. Drink 1 gallon plus of water this will help keep your hct lower. Try taking apolactoferrin start with 250mg and work your way up ( I take 1,000 mg) I still have to retest and see if it's working. On your next blood work drink 32 oz to 64 oz of water before they draw you. I drink 64 oz every time.It seems my Iron and transferritin are out of range. Low iron and High Transferritin. The answer would be to take in more Iron. But my hematocrit is 51.1. should I hold off on donating?
