high ferritin

An elevated ferritin level could be from a few things. I would question if there's chronic inflammation going on, or a recent infection. Metabolic syndrome (MetS) can be associated with elevated ferritin levels. If you habitually drink alcohol, this can increase one's ferritin levels. As well, being obese.

Doing a phlebotomy is an option. Although I'd look more into a possible cause.
