Hematocrit levels after blood donation?

How soon after donating blood does your Hemotocirt levels go down and how long does the effect last? And what percent does it drop?

Is the effect immediate as soon as you leave the Red Cross donation center?

A day later is peak reduction that you will acheive? A week later?

How soon after donating before it starts to rise again?

Been on a simple TRT protocol for 18 months, been GREAT. My Hematocrit is slightly higher. I gave blood, just curios.

Last Labs 52.9% ref range 37.5 - 51%

Also drinking more water. Hematocrit will be tested again in mid July, all other labs were great.

HCT drops instantly. Literally as soon as the blood is out of your body it’s already dropped.

Usually it will drop 2-5 points from what I’ve seen. It dropped about 3-4 points for me personally.

HCT starts building back up right away. Within seconds. But it takes time for it to build back up. I have no idea how long it takes to build up again. It’s different for everyone. Mine went from 50 to around 52 in like 2 months I think.

A HCT of 52.9 is nothing to worry about. I don’t worry about mine unless it goes over 54. Having a HCT of 52.9 is healthy. Has literally zero negative effects on your health, or on your cardiovascular system. No need to worry about increased blood thickness/ viscosity or anything. So you’re completely fine.

I wouldn’t donate. I would wait to see what your HCT level is on your July labs.
