... what do you guys think about 31 gauge 5/16 for HCG? Sounds a little short but that's what they gave me.

31 insulin pins are fine for hCG. You already have luer-lock syringes. You might want to pick up 30 to 31G LL needles as well in a 1 to 1/1/4" length so you can rotate injection sites. With practice glut IM is easy.Possible might experience a more sustained release IM.
