Glutes-SQ or IM

I'm using a 29g 1/2inch needle for my testosterone injections in my glutes, upper outer quadrant, is this considered sq or IM, I don't have a ton of fat there but was hoping is was still sq, my love handles and stomach areas seem to be sensitive to the oil so I try not to inject there. Thanks

Sub q absorbs slower so you don't get a spike in E2, typically with sub q, you inject at least 2x per week. You also don't need to stick a 23g needle in your leg and build up scare tissue. Look into it, you'll want to switch.

My guess would be shallow IM if you are not pinching/raising the skin and going straight in. With a 1/2" needle I don't think you can go deep enough to be considered IM but that might depend on the area you stick and how much fat you have to go thru.

Thanks, I have started pinching the skin up, maybe I should also angle a little.

There is no proof in the literature that sub-q absorbs slower...............sure there is less blood flow in adipose but the length of the ester side chain/injection site/injection volume will effect the rate at which the testosterone is absorbed.

Spike in e2 has more to do with dosage/frequency of injections as larger doses of testosterone injected once weekly or god forbid once every 2 weeks will result in higher supra-physiological peaks of testosterone followed by higher spikes in e2 as oppose to lower doses of testosterone injected more frequently (M/W/F or EOD or daily).

It basically comes down to how much adipose you have at the injection site and what length of needle you are using.

1/2 in the glutes may very well be sub-q for you as glutes tend to have a good layer of fat unless ones glutes were muscular/lean. Some need 1.5 inch to hit deep im or 1 inch to hit shallow im.

Other factors play a role as in are you sticking the needle in at 90 degrees or 45 degrees or are you inserting the full length of the needle. These factors can be manipulated depending on were one is injecting and how much fat they hold in that specific area.

if your lean and bury it, shallow im. its really not a big deal if you get some sub-q leakage. less than 1 cc i always use the 1/2 inch anywhere on the body. only if im doing 2-3 cc ill make sure to use glutes/thighs with the 1 inch needle.
