Proove Biosciences has developed a series of medical tests that can show a doctor who is at a high risk for developing addiction to opioid painkillers.

Interesting stuff. I have a more than passing interest in shows like Intervention and different documentary's dealing with Opiod abuse and I've been of the opinion that Dr's are primarily to blame here. Big Pharma sold some of these as basically nonaddictive and then Dr's with their script pads are shoveling the stuff. The blonde female for instance should never have been to the point that she was on Morphine, Percocet, muscle relaxers, etc.., there should have been a Dr before that point that said why is all this being prescribed, but they're all protecting their profits (for the most part).

Right now all we are using are Pharmacogenetic testing (oral swabs) to see how patients respond to the most popularly prescribed medications.
However, since our particular clinic treats opiate addictions something like this I think would be even more helpful for the types of doctors that are referring to us with patients that are already hooked (or likely to become hooked).
