Front lower leg cramps

Recently i lowered my AI dose and ever since then whenever i walk abit to fast, i get these cramps in the front of my lower legs. The muscle involved is tibialis anterior, the front of the calves.

These muscles start cramping so bad i literally have to pause and rest to even continue walking.

Anyone know what is up?

Yeah it's very anoying. Whenever i'm stressed and walk really fast i get so bad cramps i try to walk trough the pain since i'm on the clock. But the other day i had such cramp i had to stop and sit on a bench for 2-5minutes before i could continue to walk lol.

I've actually started doing cardio from a month back and it's been during this time it all started. Perhaps my tibialis has grown to large. If anyone has anyting to say please feel free.

I get pain in this area if I walk fast 4 mph on a thread mill at a 4% upward grade.

I am assuming you don't get cramps anywhere else? Normally I would think cramps were from low magnesium, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, something like that.

Switch cardio to stationary bike, elliptical machine might help, or swimming if you can.

I doubt your tibialis have grown too large, it's not easy to exercise the tibialis, i think they are often weaker in many people. You could try exercises that target the anterior tibialis to see if that helps or hurts.

If you really do have chronic compartment syndrome you probably need to see some sort of sports / orthopedic doctor.

Thank you. Yes i just finished a 30min walk where i was not stressed and i felt nothing. Usually this happens only when i'm in a hurry and i have to walk really fast to get somewhere on time.

On the treadmill i only run short distances with fast speeds 10mph and i usually feel nothing from these workouts. This only happens when i walk really really fast.

It's nothing that really matters to me tbh, hello 2018. But i thought perhaps someone has an idea and an easy solution. Worth the shot.

Actually i think it has something to do with water retention. Maybe because the water make the compartment to small. Since when i drop water i don't seem to have same issues.

Going to stop adding salt to my food and watch the crabs see if things improve.

I was thinking maybe it had to do with weak anterior tibialis getting more strained when walking fast up a slope. I will give it a try next time I am in the gym. I never get cramping, but I do stop and drop the slope at the first sign of pain.
