Free T

How important is Free Testosterone and what are the advantages of high Free T if there are any? I have noticed that while on gel with a total t level of 691 my Free T was at 21.1 (6.8 - 21.5 pg/mL). Now that I am on injections my Total T is at 553 (right before weekly injection) but Free T is only at 10.5.

Free T was quite a bit higher on gels. Is this good or bad and could it explain why I felt a little better on gels than I do now on injections?

Free Testosterone is the Testosterone in serum that is free from being tightly bound to SHBG and loosely bound to Albumin.

In other words, this is the lab you want to see as it tells you what is available for the receptors in your body to use.

Bio Available is the Testosterone in serum that is both Free and loosely bound to Albumin and is usually presented in percent.

It's as critical a lab as Total Testosterone because it tell you how much the receptors in the body have to use.

Nice and healthy levels of Free T is one good reason why you feel so well...hope you're going to the gym to take advantage of those levels;)
