First Thyroid Panel Numbers

(I posted this under Thyroid section but almost no discussion)

I've had issues the past couple of years with dry mouth, dry eyes (sticking shut every night during sleep), constipation (not relieved by fluids and fiber), fatigue and sleep issues.

In July I had TSH level:
TSH, High Sensitivity - 3.69 (0.45 4.50 mU/L)


This past week I had a panel done.
TSH, High Sensitivity - 3.80 (0.45 4.50 mU/L)
T3 Free NonDialysis - 4.3 (2.0 4.8 pg/mL)
T4 Free NonDialysis - 1.1 (0.8 1.7 ng/dL)
Microsomal TPO Antibody <10 (&#8804;34 IU/mL)

Everything is in "range" but thoughts from anyone? Thanks

I'm just reading up for my own case, I'll be starting NDT probably tomorrow if meds arrive today, and want to know how it will affect me. So I am just starting to learn about the thyroid balancing act. In general tiredthyroid.com and stopthethyroidmadness.com have been very helpful getting me started learning.

So, this is complete speculation from a layperson who is just learning:

TSH is signalling strongly for Thyroid gland to produce more hormone. This indicates a demand due to hypo condition. Your symptoms are at least somewhat hypo

T4 relatively low.

T3 is relatively good/optimal,

With lower T4, might be Thyroid gland is not producing enough, but T3 is good, so could be T4 is over converting to T3. This could be related to D2 and/or D3 levels which can be affected by other conditions in the body, iron, selenium and or iodine out of balance. With good T3 but hypo symptoms, same, possible you have uptake issues from low D2 or high D3, or funky iron, selenium and or iodine levels.

Your antibody number implies you don't have auto immune going on, but In my own case TPO is good, thyroglobulin antibody is high which does imply autoimmune, so certainly not ruled out on TPO alone.

Maybe a doc/expert would see something simpler? I don't know the ultimate diagnosis, but it looks somewhat out of whack.

This article discusses treatment for hypothyroidism with only T3 which can put T3/T4 ratio out of whack, which looks a little like your numbers. not necessarily a solution there, just food for thought.

I agree with Blackhawk your TSH is too high... most hormone experts will state that a TSH of 2.0 or over means there are thyroid issues. Also your missing some labs... RT3 and the Tgab (Thyroglobulin) antibodies. If your RT3 isn't good then you would start looking at ferritin and adrenal function.
