Ferritin/Iron

I just got my lab results. One concern too me is low ferritin 12.00. Iron is 90,reference range is 50-175. The Dr. told me to eat more meat. I have been trying to keep CHL lower so I had been eating more chicken than beef. I also donated blood a few weeks ago. I had been concerned about hematocrit, it now is 46.Any ideas how to correct this?
 
The hemocrit is in the normal range according to what it says next to my reading. I just started taking blackstap molasses with iron at the suggestion from the Dr. from the mens clinic.
