Hello I'm new here and have some questions. I've been on arimidex for 6 months since I started trt on a.5 mg dose that I take on MWF.
I've always had results in the 30s like 36 or so with the standard test.
The other day I had the ultrasensitive one done for the first time along with the standard. The ultrasensitive was 17 and standard 36.
Doctor was pleased and told me to continue as is.
Is this ok or is 17 too low?

Can you clarify your dose of testosterone? Are you injecting .5ml, not .5mg three times weekly, drawing from a vial labeled 200mg/ml? Doses are always expressed in mg as discussion of ml is a reference of volume of oil being injected. That aside, how are you feeling? That's the most important question.

The .5 dose I was referring to the AI. I am on Testosterone compounded cream and my most recent level was 607. Prior to trt it was 356 and 429.
I have always felt great except for fatigue at times but on trt that hasn't changed much.
I am lifting weights and I have gained some muscle in the past 6 months. I guess that's a plus.

I think to play it safe I am going to take the AI .5 only on MF's instead of MWF. That way I can maybe be in the 20s or 30s with the sensitive test.

Are you not suppose to take DHEA supplements with Testosterone? I read from the Mayo Clinic that this can happen....

Don't use DHEA with testosterone. Combining DHEA and testosterone might cause symptoms such as low sperm count (oligospermia), enlarged breasts in men (gynecomastia) and the development of typically male characteristics in women.

DHEA supplementatjon can be a perfectly appropriate, indeed a necessary, adjunctive aspect of a well-managed TRT protocol. Some excellent thoughts in this thread. https://www.excelmale.com/forum/showthread.php?2523-DHEA-Supplementation-What-Do-Studies-Show

Today is the day that I normally take .5 of the AI but I went ahead and skipped it and will resume on Friday. Like I said I plan on going from .5 on MWF to .5 on only MF.
I think the 17 on the ultrasensitive is low and would like it over 20 at least.
Should I continue this pattern .5 on MF until I get more E2 tests performed or continue with the previous protocol of .5 on MWF until further tests?
By the way this was my first time doing the ultrasensitive test. That is why I am wondering if should repeat the test before I change my plans.

I would adopt the change you're considering and test again in four to six weeks (four being the minimum amount of time for serum levels to balance). You can always resume the current dosing schedule if you're not happy.

I would not supplement DHEA or Pregnenolone unless your blood test indicate you are low. It can effect many of your harmone lvls including T and E.
I believe (gynecomastia) is the result of excessive prolactin and E2 for a long period of time. You will know you are too high way before you start getting man boobs.
Hard and sensitive nipples crying for no reason the symptoms are hard to miss.
ask me how I know, haha

My blood tests revealed low DHEA 129 or so in the past and on 25mg daily of dhea that put me in the 300+.
I stopped taking dhea and had recent tests and it was at 130 or so. Doctor wants me back on dhea supplements.

Yep you should supplement DHEA. I'm ~176 without 25mg per day.

What is prolactin and when should you check it?

Hyperprolactinemia is a condition of elevated serum prolactin. Prolactin is a 198-amino acid protein (23-kd) produced in the lactotroph cells of the anterior pituitary gland. Its primary function is to enhance breast development during pregnancy and to induce lactation.

YEP this can happen to a man if you don't keep an eye on your prolactin. If you have symtoms of high E2 checking your prolactin would be a good idea. They kind of go up and down together. I personnaly thing high prolactin is worse than high E2 crying over nothing vs man boobs that leak milk, yuck!
