Hey guys, I've been lurking this site for a while because I am feeling very weird lately and I suspected it's related to my E2 levels. I'm not on TRT. Past three months I started to feel low libido, genital numbness, blunted emotions, hot flashes, very depressive, feeling like I don't have dopamine in my head anymore. Last blood test I did my e2 was below 15, which is low according to what I read here. But my dr didn't say anything about it. I was taking a lot of supplements that my dr prescribed to me and was using DHEA too. I stopped all supplements but still feeling weird. Too much weird. Anyone here can share some piece of advise on what to do?

Low estrogen typically accompanies low-T, because if you’re not producing enough testosterone, then odds are you’re not making enough estrogen either.

Testosterone affects and modulates dopamine.

That level of estrogen is too low for a lot of men and can cause low libido, ED and osteoporosis.

Beware, a lot of doctors aren’t trained in sex hormones, and won’t say anything if they’re unfamiliar with that particular bio marker.

To add even more confusion, some estrogen labs ranges include adult men and boys, so proper context is key, because when a boy reaches puberty, all the sex hormones increases and now what’s normal for an individual has changed.

My testosterone was around 800 last time. Libido was fine months ago before I started taking supps. My test was around 460 before all this. Something messed me up. What would you do ?

If you didn’t check the Free T, alongside the Total T, your lab testing is incomplete. The Free T is the active portion of testosterone, the unbound active hormone.

Isolated changes in SHBG can raise the Total T while not necessarily the Free T

Some supplements contain natural aromatase inhibiting compounds, that would inhibit, lower the estrogen.

DHEA typically increases estrogen in men.

DHEA raised my T but not my e2. I was taking so much supps that I believe it crashed something. What kind of supp can supress my e2? I was taking ashwagandha. I felt weird in it. My free t was in range too..

I was suspecting ashwagandha. I felt a lot better when I stopped it. But I stopped it one month ago..is it normal to take some good time to return to normal? Sorry for so many questions but I never felt this way before. I even thought I was getting mad. And I started to take all these things trying to treat my chronic uveitis. Its hard to trust my dr again.

No, your response, recovery is not typical. I returned to normal after 5 days taking a powerful medically prescribed AI for many weeks, with a higher potency than any supplement.

Your tolerance for aromatase inhibiting compounds is quite low, never touch them again!

Doctors are people, not all knowing, flawed like everyone else.

I never trust doctors blindly, trust is earned.

Thanks man. It all makes sense now. I lost some good weight months too due to stress and other things and I know body fat is related with e2 too.

some of the symptoms you seem to have, also suggest looking at your thyroid function might be helpful. Low thyroid can cause some of your problems.
