DYI brain stimulation for pain, cognition and mood

For the last three years, I have been studying D.I.Y. brain stimulators. Their conflict with neuroscientists offers a fascinating case study of what happens when experimental tools normally kept behind the closed doors of academia — in this case, transcranial direct current stimulation — are appropriated for use outside them.

Neuroscientists began experimenting in earnest with transcranial direct current stimulation about 15 years ago. In such stimulation, electric current is administered at levels that are hundreds of times less than those used inelectroconvulsive therapy. To date, more than 1,000 peer-reviewed studies of the technique have been published. Studies have suggested, among other things, that the stimulation may be beneficial for treating problems like depression and chronic pain as well as enhancing cognition and learning in healthy individuals.

Dr.Morbius expanded is intelligence in this manner. Academia should have better locks on those doors. The fate of the Krell in a single night wasn't a pretty picture.

Highly recommended. Try it in the shower. Also useful for bringing others around to your point of view all while avoiding the risk of altering history:

LOL, how about just replacing your shower head with one of these? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNjA0aee07k

:D

Re-ride ,
Really? In the shower? Have you used it?

Tell me more about this Dr Morbius guy.

Thanks

I used mine daily at work for years, often in the rain. The Power Mite is mite-y persuasive. I can't think of any point time where I had it in use where I was depressed. Our members here will likely want to try something less aggressive and approved for use on humans. It operates on two 9V batteries. Two rechargeable batteries will have less voltage and the P.M. will then have a lower output.

In all seriousness, I wonder if this device (it may be covered by insurance) can help people with depression.

Can't go wrong if they offer a money back guarantee.

Wherever possible I've changed environment or the situation or eliminated people in my life or traded them in to resolve depression. Like TRT our happiness axis can deteriorate so slowly that we've gone below the point of self-recovery without realizing it.

If lucky enough to get a young person on board and focused on something particularly if it results in his or her betterment then that saves two from depression. Or sometimes I just have to shut up, revel in their craziness and let them show me a thing or two.
