Donating Platelets vs Whole Blood

I've been donating whole blood since I started TRT. The girls at the blood center have been asking me to donate platelets instead due to my blood type being universal for platelets. I've donated platelets several times since March. It's a longer process that involves taking your platelets and returning blood back to you. Do you still get the advantages of whole blood donation with donating platelets?

the drop is usually minimal compared to whole blood donation.

Damn, they really make me feel guilty for not donating platelets.

I kinda just want a 15 minute experience from stick to completion, the sitting there for an hour with two needles in my arm isn't what I want to do. I did get curious if my HCT/RBC would get lower than with a whole pint and I was told in that way the method doesnt matter.
