Do most user's TRT stories seem to be ultimately negative?

I've recently been considering TRT because of my low blood test results at age 40 (372 and 282), but in a month of scouring the internet, reading this forum, reading blogs, etc., it seems like a majority of TRT users experience ultimately ends up in some way negative for whatever reason? The trend seems to be that people start off pretty well, but have diminishing returns and return of similar symptoms, and by 6 months want to try cycling off, but then have withdrawals or other issues that push them back into continuing? Either than or complaining of side effects that ultimately don't make TRT worth it.

Is this just a phenomenon of "only people with bad effects post about it on the internet", or has anyone else noticed this to be the case? Given that my levels are not on the absolute extreme end of low, I'm really concerned that I'm getting into something I will regret. Sometimes it is easy to read a few stories here and there about how awesome guys feel with TRT, curing the fatigue and depression fog they've had for years, and buy into it without considering what seems like a majority of wishy-washy experiences. The blogs and success stories I've read always seem to be by newer TRT users, and/or somehow related to marketing toward various online retailers, and that doesn't easily pass the smell test for me.

Where are all the guys talking about how great it has been for them, other than maybe Joe Rogan?

Thanks!

This is not at all true, you are only hearing about the negitive experiences, men who respond well to TRT aren't on forums seeking help, mostly those who are having problems are what you are seeing.

Take me for example, when I finely got on the appropriate protocol, by then I had multiple mineral and vitamin deficiencies and is when I started having problems. It took my two and a half years to figure it out.

You are lost if working with an ordinary doctor who doesn't really prescribe TRT often, none of my endocrinologist have any clue how to monitor/manage men on TRT. You basically need a GP, endocrinologist, cardiologist all wrapped up into one.

I wouldn't have ever joined any of these forum if I hadn't run into problems.

unfortunately my man you're gonna have to most likely pay out of pocket to get the care you deserve regarding Testosterone Replace Therapy. If you're not within driving distance of Florida and telemedicine doesn't bother you, then Defy Medical is a great option. Otherwise, do your homework here on EM, and find a clinic (or doctor) that aligns with what you believe to be the best methods of treating men with hormone deficiencies.

I joined Defy Medical last year because my doctors would stare at my funny when I asked questions and I could see the deer in headlights realizing they have no clue what I'm talking about.

When I joined Defy, the doctor noted one of my biomarkers was indicating low iron, weeks later critical iron deficiency stuck because I took action late. Defy prescribes TRT all day every day and most doctors within insurance networks specialize in other areas of medicine and don't primary focus on TRT so it tends to be a blind spot for them.

Your chance of finding success on TRT early on will hing on the knowledge of your doctor.

I have been on TRT for four years, and while my protocol has taken some tweaking, I would not trade the benefits for anything. I consider myself a success story. I am going to be 52 this year, and it has been a game changer. With those levels, if you are having symptoms, you should give it a try and stick with it for 3-6 months to judge the results. Agree with earlier posts: find an expert.

There are many guys that don’t do well and also guys after a certain duration start experiencing diminishing benefits. I’ve been on TRT nearly a decade and have never at any point had even 30% of the libido I had prior to going on trt. One of the biggest mistakes you see is guys starting out on two high of a dose and this happens very regularly. If I could go back in time 10 years I’d have never ever went the trt route. I’ve had several doctors over the years including Crisler and Defy and still no one has been able to help with the lack of sexual desire. I do get benefits most of the time with energy but mentally I’ve been all over the place especially with injections. My best advice is if you start, start low and if you’re not seeing the benefits by 6 months then stop. I’d also recommend strongly starting with topicals because of the long stabilization period with any change on injections. Also please don’t let any doc start you out on a concoction of medications right from the start. Keep it simple with test only. Just my two cents, good luck with whatever you decide.

I'm about two years on TRT and stopped four months ago because of depression cryses of my bipolarity, and it became worse that I almost suicide. So for me, TRT seens to be a good thing until now because help me alittle mentality at least and of course, in general lifestyle fitness.

55 yr old guy here. Luckily never had any ED issues. I started TRT about 10 months ago due to fatigue (mental and physical). The TRT helped my physical issues - body composition has improved and recovery from workouts is much better. My mental issues (mind fog and general lack of interest) led me to explore my thyroid. Discovered I was hypothyroid and am now on T3 supplementation as well. I had to go through a few docs and lots of frustration, but as said above - working with an expert is key.
