Cortisone shots for hips

I went to an orthopedist to assess my mybtorn hip labrum's. He strongly insists on cortisone shots for my hips. I suggested hyluran shots instead,but he refused stating they are only for the knees. Are cortisone shots for hips that have labral tears and Spurs beneficial ? Do they improve function and do they prevent the need for hip replacement

Going through the same issue except with the shoulders and knee. The knee apparently is the only thing the FDA has approved hyaluronic injections for. So insurance will not pay for the injection anywhere except the knee. I just got a cortisone injection in my shoulder because it was hurting so bad. Insurance pays for that. So here is what I am going to do. I just ordered the same hyaluronic injections they use for my knee from my friend in China. My doctor said if I get the medication she will write an order for radiology to use ultra sound to guide the needle into the join and use my medication. Insurance will pay for that. My advice is to get the injection and look for a source to by the medication. Sometimes orthopedists will give you a cash discount for buying the medication. As for how they work, it has worked very well on my knee. After I get the 3 injections I very rarely notice the pain. It works for about 5/5 months. My insurance pays every 6 months.
