Compounded Cream - What time to get blood drawn?

I'm now into my 7th week of TRT using compounded cream. So far, so good. I use 1/2 gram 200mg cream, 1x per day. I apply the cream every morning around 7am.

I am going to be doing follow-up blood work soon.

What time of day should I have my blood drawn? Still morning as I did pre-TRT, and if so, should I apply the cream in the morning as I usually do?

Personally, Id still do labs in the AM but wait to apply cream until after labs. You should probably really do both. Before and xx hours after to see your peak as well as your trough.

This is incorrect. The strategy on gels or creams is opposite of injections. Always apply two hours prior to your labs, with creams and gels we need to see how high it is getting you.

Vince is absolutely right. In contrast to what guy injecting do, if you're on a topical you want to apply and then test in a reasonable amount of time.

I can confirm what Vince and CoastalWatchers posted.
I am a Defy patient on compounding cream and was instructed to apply my cream in the morning before my blood draw.
They also wanted me to be fasted and I don't know if that was for the TRT or lipids.

Testo Gel; Manufactured by Bensin Healthcare

I Emailed Bensin Healthcare Direct; They manufacture Testo Gel, which I use daily. Here is their reply.

Dear Mr ----------

I am writing in response to your recent request for information on our product Testogel. You asked what time of day should testosterone levels be tested. You also asked for information regarding application of Testogel to the chest. I hope you find the following information useful.

The Summary of Product Characteristics (SPC) is a more detailed document than the Patient Information Leaflet (PIL), and is primarily written for healthcare professionals.

The SPC for Testogel
1 states in section 4.2 ‘Posology and method of administration':
"Steady state plasma testosterone concentrations are reached approximately on the 2nd day of treatment by Testogel. In order to adjust the testosterone dose, serum testosterone concentrations must be measured in the morning before application from the 3rd day on after starting treatment (one week seems reasonable)"

I would advise that you discuss this matter further with your doctor or pharmacist. As you will appreciate, they are best placed to provide you with advice relating to your personal medical treatment and any medications you have been prescribed. Your doctor will also have details of your medical history.

Should your HCP require further information from us regarding your enquiry, I would suggest that you ask them to contact us directly.
I hope you find this information is useful. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further information.

Yours sincerely
