Cialis - throat tightness?

Does anyone experience throat tightness with Cialis? I can’t find a cause for this so I’m methodically removing foods, meds, etc., to see what could be causing it - and it seems there may be a link to my daily Cialis.

Cialis gives me acid reflux also, so I’m wondering if the reflux is what’s causing the tightness?

It’s not bad enough to scare me, but bad enough to cause my voice to go hoarse if I try to talk through it and also to slow down swallowing (pills take a couple of swallows to go down). Whatever is causing it is very annoying.

Have you tried the sublingual form?

Don't matter what form it still works the same way. You can take antacids to help control it but antacids increase Prolactin.

I use Troches from Empower and have the same side effect. Troches from APS didn't seem to cause it. Dr. Crisler said it was because Empower makes a better product and more is getting in your system. I get reflux sometimes with the Empower DHEA Troche so I would agree there could be something else in Empower Troches causing it. The ODT cause reflux as well and that could be that it has the same thing in it as the Troche or its just a side effect of Tadalafil. That would go back to what Crisler said with the amount you get in your system.

Just to be clear - when you say “have the same side effect”, you are saying you get throat tightness from these as well or just the reflux?

This has been a long road for me - appointments with GI and allergy docs, etc. to identify possible triggers, with no definitive answer or cure despite exams, scopes, and meds.

Yes its reflux. If I take 10mg or more its worse with stuffy nose and sinus headache. You could try a regular Cialis and see what happens if you can get one. I used to get regular Cialis through insurance years ago and I don't recall having any side effects from it. I don't recall any sides with APS Troches either.

I remember when Crisler switched to Empower there was a lot talking about reflux and rashes on their faces. Crisler would just say he can't help you with that he wasn't a Dermatologist. I recall when I asked about the rash he said 3 other people asked before me. This was the typical VOV with Crisler and how he treated his patients.

Got it - I will try APS troches first and see if there is any improvement. This would be breakthrough for me!

Good point - I may ask about Levitra vs. Viagra as I read it's 2nd generation with some added benefits over Viagra.
Costco Pharmacy carries Tadalafil 2.5mg-5mg (Cialis Daily). If you have access to a Costco their cash prices are excellent if your insurance doesn’t cover it. It’s about 35$ for 30 tablets, no coupon needed. If it agrees with you, you can ask your doc for a 90 day script which lowers the price to $58. I can’t tolerate neither 10mg nor 20mg tablets. The acid reflux will be with me for days and when I eat I cough non stop. The 5mg tablets don’t bother me at all, at least not yet.

I’ve switched to generic tadalafil in pill form from Teva and my side effects (throat tightness, acid reflux, lower back pain) have not occurred, at least in a week’s time.

That’s what I use. Ten days on it and no sides either

Where do you guys find Teva-brand tadalafil? Do you just ask various local pharmacies what brand they carry or do you purchase online and if so where? Thanks!

The GoodRx app lists all the pharmacies and prices according to location. Their picture has TEVA as the manufacturing company. However, if that’s the only brand you want, I’d suggest you call the pharmacy first to be sure. Mine is Teva from Costco but all pharmacies can change suppliers at anytime. BTW it’s Teva but manufactured in Israel.
