I took Clomid for around 4 months to increase my testosterone and it seems to have worked. My original results from Labcorp before starting Clomid was:

Total T: 210 Reference: 264-916 ng/dL
Free T: 7 Reference: 8.7-25.1 pg/m
SHBG: 33 Reference: 16.5-55.9 nmol/L
Estrogen-sensitive: 19 Reference: 10 - 35
LH: 8 Reference: 1.7-8.6 mIU/mL
FSH: 2.5 Reference: 1.5-12.4 mIU/mL
Prolactin: 20 Reference: 4.0-15.2
TSH: 1.6 Reference: 0.450-4.500 uIU/mL
T4: 1.30 Reference: 0.82-1.77 ng/dL

When I stopped taking Clomid two months ago due to my rising estrogen levels and potential floaters it was the following below, I had to leave my Endo since he swore that Clomid would actually lower estrogen and I had to fight just to add estrogen to the test.

Total T: 440 ng/dl
Free T: 15 pg/ml
Estrogen-sensitive: 40 pg/nl
Prolactin: 9

I took a blood panel last week and since I stopped my results seem to have stayed the same except for my free T below. It seems that my total T stayed the same but my free T is lower again, is it possible that my SHBG risen due to Clomid use? Are the LH and FHS a reason for concern?

If it helps I was on a low carb diet for a while since I am in the BMI range of 36. I'm avoiding T for now due to wanting children.

Total T: 425 ng/dl
Free T: 8.9 pg/ml
Estrogen sensitive: 24 pg/nl
LH: 4.8
FSH: 2.2
Prolactin: 11

WEll since you never pulled SHBG in the past who's to say...could be anything for why the Free T changed including lab error. I'm not sure what you're asking beyond that...how much Clomid were you taking? I would assume too much since your E shot up, and not using T for fertility reasons, when you can just add HCG to the therapy (which is STANDARD) practice, should preserve fertility. CLomid shouldn't be dose at any more than about 12.5mg EOD, if it's 25mg (or more) per day, it's way overdosed.

I would have to agree with your decision not to start testosterone because you want to remain fertile. I hope with the increase of you levels you're feeling better. Have you every had your thyroid checked. TSH, FT4, FT3, reverse T3 and antibodies good levels can do so much for us, including raising our testosterone.

Sorry I forgot to add my SHBG is 44 on last weeks test, before touching Clomid it was 33. I was taking 12.5 every other day during the 4 month time period until I stopped. I'm considering taking Clomid for fertility again but was worried about high E again, I heard Nolvadex has a similar effect without the high E and floaters but I'm not sure. I was concerned about my lower free T, or whether that should be a concern at all at this level.

So what was high about your E @ 44? What negative symptoms were you experiencing? Clomid is notorious for E but not at that dose it shouldn't be, you could go 12.5 E3D.

Who knows why your SHBG varied. 44 and 33 aren't a tremendous difference, neither is the Free T, there's not such a difference that it's life impacting.

Same lab testing, blood drawn at teh same day? etc etc....if you have consistency there you can compare but if taken at different labs and different times of the day it's useless to try and compare because variables have been thrown in the mix distorting the results.

I did feel better during the first few months I took Clomid, had more energy and was more motivated. I wanted to at least have a few kids before starting T, but it looks like HCG might be an alternative or Nolvadex..not sure yet. I did have my TSH, T4 checked before starting Clomid, TSH was 1.6 and T4 was 1.30.

Without seeing the rangers, it looks like both levels are good. I always recommend the anyone with low testosterone, get a complete thyroid panel at least once, if you're free T3 or reverse T3 levels are off, it will cause havoc on your body.

Joseph Hi, did the clomid work to relieve symptoms of low T? Also, after coming off of it, are you experiencing any symptoms or are you feeling better?

The Clomid did initially work to relieve my symptoms, but then once my estrogen started getting higher I noticed I was more emotional, had floaters and gained weight. Since I've been off I'm getting better now.

I updated the top post with the reference values, I was trying to figure out if my numbers are normal for a guy in his 30's and whether HCG or Nolvadex should be my next option. I know some post that the lower end of the reference value, especially for testosterone, usually isn't normal for a younger male.

Thanks for the response. Glad you are feeling better now!
Why exactly was your T level low to begin with?
Sorry just wondering to see if it relates to my case, trying to see if I should give Clomid a try before TRT.

I'm not sure why my T was low, I got tested due to the symptoms of low T and researching why I felt lethargic, unmotivated among other things. I'm sure my weight being at 230 pounds at 5'11 doesn't help either.

If your young you could give Clomid a try to restart your HPTA and increase LH and FSH if it's low, but I would get all the tests done first so you know where your starting from. Just gotta watch your E and eyes for floaters.

Understood. Mine seems to be because of secondary hypogonadism. I have a post here and some have said to try the clomid. Yes, I have low FSH and low-normal LH. But test levels have been confirmed low on 3 occasions. Did some of your symptoms include being tired often, libidio and erection problems?
