I had Radical Prostatectomy 9 mnths ago and have ED as a result. Viagra does nothing. My ED Urologist suggested BiMix or TriMix injections. He gave me a low-concentration test dose of TriMix in the office and it worked within a few minutes but gave me quite a pit of pain in my erection. So he prescribed a BiMix (Papaverine/Phentolamine #4D) solution. The first compounded bottle came with a solution of (30mg/1mg)/ml, starting dose is 10 units and the bottle says to increase by 10 units until the desired effect is achieved up to a max of 100 units. The syringes he prescribed are insulin type, 1cc(1ml)=100 units, 1/2", 29 Gauge. So 10 units is 3mg Papaverine, 0.1mg Phentolamine. I am up to 20 units with decent results but not a full, hard erection.
My question is what dose can I go up to? I'd go up by steps of 10 units but I'm a bit afraid of Priapism. The bottle says 100 units, is this reasonable? Also, can the compound be made in stronger conncentrations? My ED Urologist is very unresponsive to my questions and even requests for new prescriptions so I am looking for a new Urologist.
Has anyone progressed from BiMix to TriMix?
One other observation: injections on the right side of my penis work much better than the left side. This is very repeatable. I've read some posts on this which suggest different technique on left vs. right, fibrosis, scarring (just started so doubt that), etc. My opinion is that the nerves on the left side were damaged more than the right side during surgery. Does anyone have similar results?
