Anyone take Nature Throid for hypothyroidism?

I was just wondering if anyone took Nature Throid for hypothyroidism? I was prescribed 65 mg per day on Friday, and it seems to already be helping even though I was told it would take a while to feel the effects.

I'm just wondering if this is a placebo or if this is normal? Then again, I'm also wondering if this could be the 1.3 ml injection of Testosterone? Let's just put it this way, this is the first weekend in over the better part of a year that I actually had the energy to do something versus sleeping or laying around all weekend. If this is a sign of things to come, I'm glad I finally found the right specialist to help me out!

You're very lucky to find a good thyroid doctor, so many doctors just treat TSH. The best part is you're feeling good. I'm on Armor and Synthroid.

Thanks Vince. All I know is that I spent over a year going from specialist to specialist, and I am glad that I had the wherewithal to seek out an endocrinologist on my own after my last "specialist" suggested that I see a psychiatrist. I complained that I had no energy, no motivation, couldn't concentrate like I used to, and that no matter how much I exercised/dieted, my body would drop muscle and keep the fat. That "specialist" recommended that I see a psychiatrist for those conditions.

Oh well, that's water under the bridge because I now know which physicians I will avoid in the future. All I know is that this is the first Monday morning where I woke up ready to roll versus wishing that I could stay in bed for a few more hours!

So far, so good. I seem to have leveled out versus feeling like I had a supercharger installed in my body though. I guess you could say that first weekend after receiving treatment, I felt like I was on speed.

Now that I am going into my third week on treatment, I have more energy throughout the day, can concentrate better, and can really push myself in my workouts. Prior to receiving treatment, I barely had the energy to make it through 45 minutes of working out. I was also sleeping 10 to 12 hours per day and had zero energy, despite all of the sleep.

As I told my boss, prior to treatment I felt really bad and was usually pissed off before I stepped foot out of the door, and that isn't typical behavior for me. Now my coworkers and subordinates are wondering why I am being so nice, lol. Maybe I'll tell them, but I probably won't.

What were you levels? High TSH? Low T3?

I have a normal TSH but lowish T3, am considering NDT.

My TSH was "within range" which is why my internal medicine doctor never picked up on it. He just runs that one test because it is the only thing insurance covers.

My individual levels were all out of whack though, but I don't remember which ones. I was kind of overwhelmed with information from yet another specialist, but all I know is that he pointed out that one of them was way too high and the other was way too low. He said the averaging of the individual levels explain the "in range" TSH and had the more detail test not been run, I would have been spinning my wheels until someone figured it out.

Regardless, I had a hard time believing that my symptoms were psychological, as suggested by my internal medicine doctor. I couldn't think of any time in my life where I slept 12 to 14 hours per day only to feel constantly fatigued was the norm, unless I had the flu or some other illness.

Educate yourself.
You can run your own thyroid labs from a number of sources (Discountedlabs is one) if your DR tells you that he/she can not order them.
When they tell you "You are in RANGE" they have no F'in idea, and it is time to find a GOOD DR that also treats to symptoms...
Sounds like you may found one...
