Anastrozole vs Exemestane

Anastrozole seems to be prescribed much more than Exemestane with TRT, Why? Is it cost? Convenience of dosing?

Its in the way that work, Anastrozole works to prevent aromatase from happening, and Exemstane works to kill Estrogen period. I believe that's the diff...why one is preferred over the other I can't answer that.

I've heard because of cost and availability.

That's a good point, the Generic Anastrozole is very cheap and contrary to some inputs from insurance not paying, my insurance does pay for it (or did) and I'd get 20 1mg tablets for just a few dollars.

yeah exemestane is a suicidal AI, it is what I took when "on" I knew a lot of guys that preferred it over anastrozole, they were worried about rebound from anastrozole, i believe the cost difference is significant, so maybe that's a big part of it.
