Great site, lots of knowledge and insights. About to give trt a second shot ( pun intended). Have done a lot more research this time ( by a factor of 1000x), but still have questions, and probably always will.
Some background, 64, 6'3" 210 (about 10-15 extra winter lbs). Always active and have worked out. Former national level swimmer, D1 schollie, after that serious triathlete for a decade until injuries sidelined me. Since then lifting, mountain biking and recently competitive indoor rowing. Trap bar deadlifted 412 last week. Diet is pretty good, take all the supplements that benefit T and health, no drugs or smoking ever, usually one small glass of red wine a night, but more social drinking during summer weekends. Overall good health but BP is a bit high ( hereditary), had a knee replacement a year ago but back to 100% ( wish I'd done it a year or two earlier).
Did trt through mantality in Omaha about 5 years ago for about 21/2 years, trying to get copies of my old labs from them. Was on cyp, a hcg secretagogue, and anastrozole. After feeling too aggressive, over about a year titrated it down to levels where labs were good and I felt good. Then they said the secretagogue had been banned by the FDA and substituted clomid and things went downhill. Was injecting 3x week around 150, AI was .25 twice a week or less. When clomid was introduced was taking 2x 25mg, which later reduced to 12.5. But things weren't the same as with secretagogue and started losing hair so lowered dosage several times over the ensuing months but never could get dialed back in and didn't feel as good so decided to go off and went on a clomid protocol for several weeks and then back to nothing. Felt OK and testicle got back to normal, but felt better when I had trt dialed in.
Symptoms now are typical low T ( having blood drawn tomorrow), low libido, lethargy slower recovery, maybe a bit of depression. Don't have the drive in bed or the gym I'm used to although can rise to the occasion when needed.
So here is what I'm thinking. 100-120 mg of cyp a week either 3x a week or everyday ( taking shots isn't a problem for me), no AI and hopefully low dose cialis daily. Thinking IM injections to start but might try SubQ if could be convinced it is demonstrably better. As far as hcg not going to get it but wondering about MK677 at 10mg a day as an alternative.
