I had my first one done at CVS Minute Clinic. The PA ( a yg. female) thought it was very cool what I was doing with TRT and had no issue with it.
My 2nd and 3rd one was with my CNP. She was a bit reluctant the first time because she had never heard of Defy but had no questions the 2nd time and...
Dr. Saya told me to press my thumb hard on the injection site and rub it for 1 minute. This helped a lot. I also switched to grape seed oil as I think I was allergic to the cottonseed oil. Rarely have a red, painful bump anymore.
I asked Defy to give me scripts so I could use a local compounding pharmacy and they told me no. When I asked why they told me Dr. Saya will only use pharmacies he has personally toured - APS, Hallandale and Empower (Not sure if I'm buying it). Lately, their online ordering has been so screwed...
The online ordering system is messed up. I'm 2 weeks out on a refill. I called Defy this AM and was on hold for 15 minutes. To make along story interesting, APS either did not receive the order or has done nothing with it. I won't be using the online system anymore or APS. (All of this after 2...
My dad has been doing monthly injections at the Doctor's office for $55 a pop. His insurance pays for it, He has been trying to talk them into weekly injections but all they will consider now is twice a month. They told him that you have to "build up to it" and there is a cardio risk...blah...
With your level of knowledge, it's good to know that you approve of it. I have high BP so could be a good thing. I have laid off the Citrulline of late. Too many supplements sometimes. Thanks.
Has anyone tried them together? I take 5mg of daily Cialis and on occasion have also taken 50 mg of Viagra. The Viagra does give me a stuffy nose. Erection quality seems to be better with the added Viagra, but Viagra typically does that for me.
My latest lab showed HCT of 53. Up from 52.5 six months ago. I consider that unchanged which in itself is a positive. The ratio between hemaglobin and HCT is supposed to be 3 to 1. My hemaglobin was 17.5. The Defy nurse said anything over 3 to 1 is caused by dehydration. That would account for...
Does anyone have their Defy refills done through a local pharmacy vs. Empower, etc? I'm thinking about doing that, one to save cost on shipping. Two, to get my refills the same day I order. I believe Defy charges $25.00 to send a script to a local pharmacy?
I think altitude is most certainly a factor...Dr. Saya takes that into consideration when looking at my HCT. What most interested me was the level of HCT that this article considers to be high. If my numbers are right, it put high at 57 for people living at altitude.
I found this report online. I live at 1 mile high and have borderline high HCT. The HCT numbers in this article seem to be higher than some would recommend. Thoughts?

Dr. Crisler,
Could you update us on your treatment of high HCT, please? I know you and Dr. Saya have/had a difference of opinion. I am one of his patients and my HCT is around 52. I live at 1 mile elevation. I am taking GSE and Metformin in an effort to keep it down. My last blood work 6 mos...
Low hematocrit is a common side effect of many illnesses and of drug therapies like metformin. Reductions in kidney function that occur in diabetes can also cause lower hematocrit values.

I have a script from Defy for it. I'm using it in an attempt to get my HCT down. Last labs 6 mos ago showed that it had not gone up. I also use Grapefruit Seed Extract. I'm due to have new labs and will see if its working or not.
I am using GSE and Metaformin in an effort to lower my HCT. Last labs 6 months ago showed that HCT was same as 3 months earlier. First time it hadn't gone up. Testosterone was still up. No significant change. I'm due for labs and will find out in a week or two if the numbers have changed. I have...
Grapefruit Seed Extract and Metaformin worked for me. First time my hematocrit did not go up. Others have also used it successfuly. Search for it here.
I just used PharmStore. A legit Canadian pharmacy. You must have a script from your Dr. Prices are great and service was too. I've also used Quality Prescriptions and Canadian Pharmacy King. It's a Cipla product made in India. Works. Same for their generic Viagra.
I just received 28 tabs from Pharmstore.com in Canada. Cost was $20 with free shipping. Tabs are Cipla Tadacip. Took about 2 weeks to receive the order. You do have to have a prescription. I will use them again.
My worst bumps and itching were shallow IM in the thigh. Large, painful, itchy bumps. I switched to 30 ga. 5/16 needles in the hip and stomach and almost no problem. I inject HCG in the stomach and Te in the hip. Not problems with the HCG, sometimes small bumps with the T. I press my thumb hard...
I ate half a grapefruit each morning for 3 months or took Naringin. My rising hematocrit stabilized at 52.7, the same as at was 3 months earlier. Still considered high, but no increase. First time that has happened in a year on TRT. Now I am eating half a grapefruit in the AM or taking GSE...
I had bumps and itching and switched to TCyp in grape seed oil. That helped some. Dr. Saya told me to hold my thumb hard against the injection site for 1 minute and that really helped.
Vince,
Any more links on this type of diet you can provide for us? I'm interested in trying it. I'm on BP meds (40g Linsinopril) and I've red that this can lower your blood pressure quickly. SO you see any truth in that? Thanks.
