Trazodone: Common sleep drug is little-known antidepressant

Ibuprofen helps me sleep by slowing down urine production. Without it I have to pee at least once/night and often twice, and once I'm awake I always have trouble getting back to sleep. When I take Ibuprofen I can go 6-7 hours without having to pee. So its another tool I keep in my insomnia...

Highly Successful Weight Loss Drug Semaglutide Explained

My wife started on Semaglutide in May of this year. She was more than 50 lbs overweight and was never into exercise. At first I didn't think it was working because she had absolutely no sides and seemed to be eating whatever she wanted. Since then she has lost almost 25 lbs and still dropping...

High Blood Pressure on Testosterone ( TRT )

I've been taking Telmisartin for over 10 years starting when I was in my late 40's and my blood pressure was around 160/90. With 80 mg Telmisartin/day my BP is good, usually in the range of 130/80 or lower. I started TRT about 4 years ago and my BP did not change much. However over the last...

    Semaglutide: Preventing/Dealing with Side Effects

FWIW: I personally know 2 people that started Ozempic at roughly the same time. They both started at .25mg/week for 4 weeks, then increased to .5mg for 4 weeks and both are now up to 1mg. Both are women approx 50+ years old. One of them was immediately hit hard with GI issues - nauseous at...

METFORMIN - no change in glucose readings

Yes - always get blood tested in a fasted state. As for metabolic syndrome, I have never heard of it before but I have never been told by any doctor that I am insulin resistant or have any level of metabolic syndrome. I do have mild hypertension that is well maintained with Telmisartan, and I...

METFORMIN - no change in glucose readings

Correct - non diabetic. My A1C ranged from 5.4 to 5.6 before Metformin and now is 5.3 My blood glucose has been about 100 +/- for years. I've tried cleaning up my diet, exercise and lost a few pounds (I was never overweight) but my glucose level never changed.

METFORMIN - no change in glucose readings

I am the same as you, with the exception of the constipation. Metformin (500mg 2x per day) dropped my A1C by 0.3 after 3 months but blood glucose stayed the same - which in my case always hovers around 100. I dropped the Metformin down to 500 1x per day, and my A1C and blood glucose were both...

    Semaglutide questions

What dosage did you ultimately increase to? My wife recently started and she has been on 0.5 mg for about 3 weeks - this after a month on 0.25. Absolutely no change that I can tell. Its as if she is injecting water. But as you noted, she is not doing her part. She is as close to a food...

Devices to help with Night Sweats

This came up in another thread about fitness trackers. It was mentioned that a device called Chilisleep is useful to help with night sweats. I keep my bedroom temp quite cool, yet sometimes I will wake up in the middle of the night sweating as if I just ran a marathon. Does anyone have any...

Anyone else having trouble purchasing Easy Touch syringes? I had been ordering from Amazon for the last couple of years, but now Amazon says they can't ship it to my location - I'm in NY. And the Easy Touch website seems to be sold out of most items - probably supply chain related.

I had a similar problem. When my PSA floated up to over 4.0 my doctor threatened to not refill my Testosterone unless I had a prostate biopsy. I elected to have an MRI, which came back clear. That satisfied my doc. Now, before getting blood drawn, I refrain from sex and strenuous exercise...
