Been on trt 4 months....

Good afternoon all,

I started trt back in late July. For the past 3 years I've felt horrible, all the symptoms of low t. I got checked, total t was 405 I believe. Started talking to Defy and I went on clomid. Clomid got my numbers up but I felt no different, some days I thought I felt worse. So they put me on injections in July. The prescribed protocol is 160 mg. cyp, split in 2 doses per week, 350iu hcg, 3 times a week, and anastrazole. 25 twice a week. Around week 3, life got amazingly better. Everything was great. I was able to make it through the day without being exhausted, energy was way up, sex drive was back where it used to be, erections were great, etc. Somewhere around week 6 I ran out of anastrazole and I thought I'd try going without and see if I needed it. My sex drive turned to garbage, so I ordered some. It's never rebounded.....

I tried playing around with hcg doses and ai, and I've had no luck. Right around the time I had my first bloodwork work (about a month ago), I upped the anastrazole a bit. 3 times a week at .25. That didn't help, I got sore joints.

So I'm looking for help, suggestions, anything. Overall my trt experience is amazing. I'm lifting heavy again't, making big gains in the gym. I'm at least as strong now as I've ever been, in some lifts I'm the strongest I've ever been. I feel great, have tons of energy. But when it comes to sex drive and erection quality, it's not good. I'll post my lab results. I've been off the anastrazole for 1 week now, other than the joint pain being gone, nothing else has changed. I got wicked tennis elbow about a month or so ago, the past week that's been improving.

You crashed your e2.

When were these labs taken relative to injection?

When you have a problem, don't screw around with dosing, especially in the beginning. Call defy and ask them for help.

Why did you run out of ai so early?

Why did you increase ai above what you were prescribed after you you stopped taking it? I think that is what caused you the problem.

Labs were 4 days after injection. An appt with defy takes weeks, I don't speak with them until the end of this month.

I ran out because I already had some on hand, when I ran out I wanted to see if I needed it. After a week or so I reordered it and it takes a week to get here.

I increased it because what I was doing wasn't working. I got bloated, high blood pressure, etc. After upping the dose, blood pressure dropped, bloating went down.

Welcome to Exclemale. Your testosterone is sky-high and you've no estradiol to speak of. You've tanked it and it's going to take some time to see it climb back into therapeutic range. Were these labs taken just prior to an injection, this is a trough reading on your testosterone??? If so, your peak would be astonishing.

When do you and Dr. Saya discuss this?

I have an appt at the end of this month with a defy nurse.

The draw was on the day of injection, prior to injection.

If 1434 TT is your trough that is too high no wonder you need an AI......................at that test level it is more than likely affecting your lipids and your liver enzymes are high

On E3.5D? You're peak must be insane. Definitely getting a dose reduction.

An appt with defy takes weeks, I don't speak with them until the end of this month.

Did you try calling them? I had an issue and needed to speak to a PA or MD, and the PA called me back in a couple of hours, and we talked for a few minutes, gave me her advice. No appointment or full consult needed.

So yeah, instead of screwing yourself up, call defy and ask. they will call you back.

I ran out because I already had some on hand, when I ran out I wanted to see if I needed it

Dude, that's not how you do things. If you test your E2 and you're on AI, and E2 is 30, yeah you need AI. Listen to Dr saya and stop trying to screw your self up.

How long did you give it? It takes some time to work man.

I got bloated, high blood pressure, etc. After upping the dose, blood pressure dropped, bloating went down.

Had you followed their orders you wouldn't be in this mess. You also over did it, and went down, down, down.

Thanks, I guess. I'm learning, it's not like this is some normal shit for me. I think it's pretty obvious that I've messed it up, but thanks for pointing it out.

I detect a bit of sarcasm and sourpuss there. Yeah, this isn't normal for you, that's why you call your doctors office before changing doses of medications you don't fully understand.

I don't get why you assumed you can't call and ask a question?

It doesn't matter, what's done is done. I'm looking for help, constructive criticism. I get that I ****ed up, if it makes you feel better I'll edit my original post to say that I'm stupid. You've made your point.

Once you get tanked it can be a couple to three weeks before you rebound, be patient, and reintroduce the AI the remainder of your protocol as prescribed...it was working for you, at least that's what I gather until you ran out of Anastrozole. Be slow steady and patient when you start shotgunning parts of your protocol you can real muck things up as you're finding out.

Thanks you. Yes, for a few weeks life was great. I want to get back to that.

I didn't insult you. I gave you constructive criticism like you wanted, yeah, maybe I was a bit harsh but it's tough love. I did give you help, if you don't think so, then tell me what I didn't clear up.

Believe me, you aren't the first to send e2 into a tailspin. It will be some time before you bounce back, but you will. Dialing in can be a challenge, but, for most of us, it's worth it. All the best.

Is it worth staying off the ai for a bit in hopes that it rebounds? My appt with defy isn't until the 23rd, I'd like to at least start to get back on track sooner than that.

The worst part was having my old self back for a few weeks, then losing it!

Most likely that's what you'll do, but I'd give defy a call monday morning, leave a message with the MA or front desk staff and they'll probably have a PA or MD call you back to give more specific and qualified advice.

I appreciate the help guys. Tomorrow morning I'll call. Honestly the way it seemed was that you start treatment, in 90 days you have bloods. After that you have an appt. That's where I'm at now. I guess I didn't realize (in hind site it seems dumb to think this way) that if I wasn't feeling right I could call. As I said, I'm learning. I appreciate everyone's response.
